I Want To Be A Nurse Practitioner
Introduction/Background I’m interested in this career field because I enjoy to help people. All of what I saw on TV would be nurses helping other people and checking up on them to make sure that they were okay. They also made sure that the client was comfortable and if they needed something the nurse would be right there with them to make sure that they were fine. I wouldn’t say that I got motivated by anyone but simply the gesture of being able to be there for someone else in need is a reason why. Many nurse practitioner’s do a lot of different things such as handing the medication to the patient, checking their vital state, making sure that they have what they need. A nurse practitioner needs writing skills such as being able to write and type certain things that deal with the patient. I felt that this career could help me in the long run because after all you want something you love to do, not something that you’re miserable doing.

I asked the same question to the nurses I interviewed Ms. Kelley agreed with not being paid enough with what she does, and Ms. Cathy stated, “I disliked being away from my family.” On the other hand many nurses enjoy their job because of the interaction with people. Both nurses were also asked why they enjoyed their job, Ms. Kelley stated, “One on one time with the residents, the stories they tell, and the things they tell us that we couldn’t see.” Ms. Cathy stated, “I enjoyed knowing that I was able to help someone who was in

I want to become a Nurse Practitioner because I want to be able to help other people regarding their healthcare needs. I have been told my compassion for others is wonderful, and that I have a healing/calming energy surrounding me. As a NP I will have more legitimacy in advocating for my client to his or her M.D. As a Nurse I too have some clout, but not in comparison to having an NP. Like it or not, this is a mindset of some.…

When I was young I would make makeshift hospitals and treat any animal could get my hands on. I have always been fascinated by anatomy and physiology, so far as to operate and dissect on worms when I was younger. When I accidentally found my way into perioperative nursing I felt that I had found my calling.…

For the longest time, I have known that I want to be a Nurse Practitioner. As a young kid I, would play doctor and take care of my siblings or toys and just look after them, it was not until I was in High School when I actually discovered what I wanted to do as a career. I started volunteering at our hospital Marian Regional Medical Center, where my eyes opened to the idea of actually working in the healthcare industry. My time volunteering I had acquired some knowledge of what a Registered Nurse did, I volunteered on the ICU and CCU (Intensive Care Unit, and Critical Care Unit), Med Serg., Emergency Room, Wellness and Rehabilitation Center, and Labor and Delivery floor; where I would do little task like change linen sheets, complete and make…

There have been many occasions in my life that I have spent time in hospitals, nursing homes and by the side of a sick relative. When my grandfather was dying of cancer, he spent as much time as he could at home with his family by his side and when the time came, he was transferred to hospital, I was 14 at the time, still very young I knew it was not about how I was feeling, this pain was his and my grandmothers. I helped look after him for the two years he was diagnosed and it was during that time, I knew where my heart was and that was nursing. With my own experience of being in and out of hospital with two complicated pregnancies, I was in awe of the nurses and midwives who did everything they could to make me feel secure and safe, I was inspired and made an already certain career choice, even more evident.…
