What is Human Resource Management? There are many different ways to rate and review an organization. One of the best ways is to review the Human Resource Department. The management team that runs this department plays a pivotal role within a successful organization or business. The management aspect of Human Sources can be viewed as the specific part of a company that is in charge of all the training, recruiting, retaining and the motivation of all employees. Even though these are the primary functions of the Human Resource department, most of the other areas will ultimately be left for the Human resource department to take responsibility for. Human Resources have become a pivotal area of the functions in a successful organization. These areas include employee evaluation, performance evaluations, compensation and benefits. This department also oversees and ensures compliance of the privacy and HIPPA acts. There is sometimes confusion about Human Resource Management, because they are in charge of the hiring and the disciplining of employees, leads people to believe that there is not a bigger picture to the duties that HRM is responsible for.
Primary Function of Human Resource Management The main priority of HRM is to properly ensure that the employees of the company are adequately managed throughout of the organization. The workers in a company are worth every penny. They make or break a company. This is why is imperative that all these employees are properly trained and are leading by example every day. Without the great employees of the company, the tools that are used to make a company profit, such as machines or creation of new innovative technology would not even be a thought without these employees. “People—not buildings, equipment, or brand names—make a company” (DeCenzo & Robbins, 2007. p. 32).
