1.0 Introduction
This report will show how Reggae Reggae sauce (RRS) attracts and retains customers through the consumer decision making process, increasing motivation and involvement, appealing to values and attitudes. It will show the market mix analysis of the product and it will likewise show a comparison to its competitor using fittingly warrant measures.
Reggae Reggae Sauce is a Jamaican jerk spice created by Levi Roots. In January 2007 Levi appeared on BBC2’s Dragons Den where he popularized the sauce by singing the product's catch line "Put some music in your food" and won over judges Peter Jones and Richard Farleigh, who both invested £25,000 each in return for 40% of his company. (BBC News (2007:online).The Sauce was initially carried exclusively in Sainsbury’s supermarkets who agreed an exclusive distribution deal to stock the sauce in their stores. In a follow-up episode of Dragons' Den, aired on 18 July 2007, revealed that Sainsbury's had expected the sauce to sell 50,000 bottles in its first year. In fact it sold 40,000-50,000 bottles per week. (BBC news 2010: Online). The sauce is now stocked by all of the major retailers and the Levi Roots brand has been extended across a range of other products. (Leviroots.com (2013): Online)
