How much electricity charge can a LED tube light save compared with a fluorescent lamp
We take an ordinary T8 fluorescent tube with 1.2 m in a certain department stores for example:, the rated power is 40W (actual consumption of power> 40W), if the daily business hours is 8:00 am – 23:00 pm ,the electricity charge is one yuan per watt, then the power consumption and electricity consumption of an ordinary tube is as follows:

Power Consumption per day: 40 W × 15 HS ÷ 1000 = 0.6 degrees /watt

The electricity charge: 0.6 × 1 yuan / kWh = 0.6 yuan

Year consumption: 0.6 × 365 days = 219 degrees

The electricity charge: 219 × 1 yuan / kWh = 219 yuan

The expenses on a common 40W fluorescent tubes T8 is 219 yuan a year!

Now we use 18W LED tube T8 with the same brightness to replace ordinary 40W fluorescent tube, under the same usage situations and circumstances, the electricity consumption and charges on LED fluorescent tube are as follows:

Power Consumption per day: 18 W × 15 HS ÷ 1000 = 0.27 degrees

electricity /watt: 0.27× 1 yuan / kWh = 0.27 yuan

consumption /year: 0.27 × 365 days = 98.55 degrees

electricity/year: 98.55 × 1 yuan / kWh = 98.55 yuan

economic comparison of an ordinary lamp and LED Tube:

The price of a 18W LED tube T8 is 100 yuan , the warranty is three-year! Comparison of the three years following table:

Secondly

1) lifespan of LED tube T8> 30,000 hours (lifespan of ordinary fluorescent tube is 6000 hours)

2) an LED tube T8 is equivalent to six ordinary fluorescent lamps, not to mention the saving on cost of labor and maintenance

For an LED tube T8 …… so the actual savings in electricity> 261.35 yuan

If there are 10pcs 100pcs even 1000pcs LED tube T8 in your store? how much annual electricity savings would be……?

Considering China’s current coal generation capacity, the average kilowatt need 400 grams of coal, but save a kilowatt of energy can reduce carbon emissions and protect the environment;

Therefore, the use of LED tube light can not only save considerably large amount of

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor light source. LEDs are used as indicator lamps in many devices and are increasingly used for general lighting. Appearing as practical electronic components in 1962, early LEDs emitted low-intensity red light, but modern versions are available across the visible, ultraviolet, and infrared wavelengths, with very high brightness. When a light-emitting diode is switched on, electrons are able to recombine with holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of the light (corresponding to the energy of the photon) is determined by the energy band gap of the semiconductor. An LED is often small in area (less than 1 mm2), and integrated optical components may be used to shape its radiation pattern. LEDs have many advantages over incandescent light sources including lower energy consumption, longer lifetime, improved physical robustness, smaller size, and faster switching. However, LEDs powerful enough for room lighting are relatively expensive, and require more precise current and heat management than compact fluorescent lamp sources of comparable output.Light-emitting diodes are used in applications as diverse as aviation lighting automotive lighting, advertising, general lighting, and traffic signals. LEDs have allowed new text, video displays, and sensors to be developed, while their high switching rates are also useful in advanced communications technology. Infrared LEDs are also used in the remote control units of many commercial products including televisions, DVD players and other domestic appliances. LEDs are also used in seven-segment display.…

It is also found that the light emitted for a LED is not particularly directional and this means that it is only possible to couple them to multimode fibre, and even then the overall efficiency is low because not allt he light can be coupled into the fibre optic cable.…

However, LEDs do possess some disadvantages. One would be its price. Because LEDs are considered to be new technology, they are more expensive than incandescent bulb and fluorescent lamps. This is based on price per lumen measurement. On the other hand, incandescent bulbs and fluorescent lamps have higher maintenance costs than LEDs. LEDs’ low maintenance costs offsets the high initial price.…

As the world continues to grow and third world countries continue to industrialize, energy consumption has become a growing concern. Every aspect of our daily routines require the use of some sort of energy, if it is gas for transportation, electricity to heat our homes or a combination used in manufacturing of goods. The majority of energy is generated from nonrenewable resources such as coil, oil and natural gas, and nuclear energy. These resources come from the earth, which require many years to replenish the source. The consumption of these resources is astronomical but also has an adverse effect to our planet. Every vehicle, factory, electric plant produces pollutants from its energy sources that are causing global warming. These two factors, consumption and effects to our environment have become the focus of conservation. According to Berg and Hager (2007) energy conservation is intended to save energy for future use while it allows us to explore more energy-efficient technologies. (p.18.4).…
