How Does John Proctor Change In The Crucible
Whenever were generally no more able to alter an issue, we are stunted to improve our self. In Arthur Miller’s The Crucible is concerning what number of characters need to come to a decision whether or not they should concede or maybe hanged. They have to concede that they were dealing with the actual demon or lie and be hanged and have their good reputation go down the drain. John Proctor in The Crucible changed while Abigail did not. Proctor changes exceedingly from the beginning of the play to end. He is a main appearance of the play. This individual goes from a temperamental adulter to a person who is looking forward to restitution in inclusion to make her suitable. John shows his compassion for his response in the following quote “God help me, I lusted” (pg.221). This quote is basically telling us how he wishes to change. He wants to change but before that he wants God for forgiveness. The reason he wants to change is because he did a lot of mistakes and also had an affair too. In the play John admits to witchcraft in the following quote, “I speak my own sins I cannot judge another. I have no tongue for …show more content…
John proctor and Abigail Williams are both similar because they both made a lot of sins. They also had an affair with each other. John was a type of character that did make mistakes but yet said the truth and was honest. But on the other hand, Abigail was very hostile and canny and also a manipulative girl. She always found her way out of her lies with out admitting anything or being honest. John Proctor would not let anyone influence his own beliefs. The reason John proctor changed because he finally understood how important it is to speak the truth. It’s always good to be honest, so that’s why he changed to make it suitable for his family. Abigail did not change at all and she didn’t even learn anything from her mistakes. She just continued to be that little self-centered

    When the play sets into action, John has had a past affair with his servant Abigail Williams. His wife, Elizabeth Proctor, is very forgiving of his sin, but John has his mind set that he will not confess to anyone else, in fear of ruining his good name, and reputation.The affair between John and Abigail caused the start of chaotic witchery and accusation. After the affair, Abigail became horribly jealous of Elizabeth Proctor. In the drama, Mary Warren places a needle in a poppet she gave to Elizabeth; John firmly demands that Mary Warren tell the courts that she really put the needle in the poppet that day. Proctor says to her, "You're coming to the court with me, Mary. You will tell it in the court." Furthermore, at the end of the play Proctor is persistent by saying that no matter what anyone says to convince him differently, he would rather die an honest man and save his name.
