Government Fund Art
The arts have been around for the majority of human existence. It's safe to say that the arts are important to society and are a basis of what it means to be part of humanity. The arts come in various forms, such as literature, music, and through the visual arts. Even though art is a basis of human culture, there are those that argue against it. They argue that the government shouldn't continue to fund the arts. However, it's important that the government continues to fund the creative side of the human spectrum for a variety of reasons.
To start things off, art is important because it gives struggling artists with great talent a chance to make something of themselves. Furthermore, many artists simply don't have the ability to fund themselves and continue to work. During the Renaissance period, artists with exceptional talent were taken care of by patrons. The patrons gave them money and protection where they could develop their art and inspire the surrounding community. The people of the Renaissance realized just what art could do and bankrolled the artists. Such a vast field attracts people to their own personal interests. For example, some people are drawn towards the musical side of the arts while others are drawn towards literature. Anyone could enjoy music from Chopin or literature by Langston Hughes. This interest in the arts serves as a reminder that the government should continue to fund the arts, because so many people enjoy having it. The arts replicate and reflect what sort of society one is living in and serves as a foundation of their humanity. An individual could even argue that without the arts, then there is no humanity. This all ties into the fact that government funding increases the amount of art that we enjoy and
