Four Year Proposal Research Paper
Parking for students at South Louisiana Community College has been an issue among the student body, and the idea of parking tower can be a solution to it, but do we really need one? Students are enrolling in community colleges more than four-year colleges. It’s because students find it more easily to take two-year program instead of attending a four your college. This year SLCC have 6,000 students that enrolled. Last year there was 4,219 students that had enrolled at SLCC; 2,151 full time the other half was part time. It’s a strong possibility almost 50% of the students that come full time has already taken all the parking spots. Which leave the students that come part time nowhere to park. Plus, it makes it harder for students to make it on time for class. If students started using a parking tower instead of the existing parkin it would make parking much easier and less stressful for anyone who is a commuter. …show more content…
More will enroll because we just build a new science building. So, building a parking garage instead of standard one can benefit SLCC. Even though is not an academic building that could be funded by the state, SLCC have to raise the money. Also, we can eliminate standard parking lots and create more education buildings to increase student enrollment in the future. The University of South Florida has a similar problem; they were getting more students by every year they needed a parking garage. Theirs was a success by reducing traffic congestion and pollution by building them a tower. SLCC don’t have traffic as much as it seems but it will become a problem once the administration starts building more academic buildings for education reasons. To prevent SLCC for faltering due to poor management; SLCC need a parking tower to contain the traffic for getting out of

When I first stepped onto the campus of Montclair State University, I knew it was a place for me. It was so beautiful and walking past the gorgeous, blooming flowers, in the middle of spring was breathtaking. I could imagine what being a student in the school would feel like and how quickly I could become accustom to it. Unfortunately, I had to face the fact that it was all a dream and nothing was perfect as it seems. Even though Montclair State University has many great aspects, it also has negative aspects as well. The three most significant aspects of Montclair State University that I believe can be improved are parking, the shuttle bus, and the registration arrangement.…

East Village consists of two new residence halls and a new dining facility. It is the eastern most part of campus now, finally breaking the Bagby Boundary that seemed to have existed. The residential halls house 700 students combined, taking the number of students who live on campus in residential housing from about 3300 students to 4000 students living on campus. Even though there are more students living on campus, the number of students that attend Baylor has not increased. So if the number of students has not increased, the number of cars has not increased either. Adding the residence halls only makes the campus look bigger than before without doing anything to harm the functionality that people say existed last year before this addition.…

Everyone knows the intersection on Hoover and Jefferson. It’s where students and faculty and neighbors of the community for a moment in time all come together. That intersection represents not only ones entrance and exit from the “USC bubble,” but provides a moment of realization that there is life beyond the classrooms, the books, and even the 2 mile “Fruber” radius around USC. See USC, provides the opportunity for one to reach their goals, to take their dreams and make them a reality. However, sometimes it takes a whole community and a 30 second traffic light to get you where you need to go.…

What are the pros and cons of reserved parking from an expectancy theory perspective? Well to start the expectancy theory is used to encourage an employee to be self-motivated and to perform at the level the company requires. Employees are given certain rewards that will receive as a result of meeting certain goals or by behaving a certain way. Then when the employee performs in the required way or achieves the goal they are rewarded which reinforces the behavior. A pro for the employees is that they can get a better parking spot closer to the entrance making it easier to get to work. It also is a status sign and can show other employees that they are at a higher level then them and its positive reinforcement for achieving a goal or behavior. A pro for the company is that can get a certain level of performance or behavior from their employees to obtain the goals of the company. A con…

This memo evaluates proposed land use options raised by Oakmont City officials. An assessment of the financial and non-financial implications suggests that building a parking garage with fees favoring short-term parking potentially yields the most desirable outcome. This investment produces the highest net present value (NPV) and helps solve a parking space shortage. Earnings generated by the garage should be used to offset negative externalities associated with the project. Further analysis into the impact of price hikes on parking utilization, and the types of parking spots that will improve the current shortage is needed to strengthen this assessment.…
