I feel connected more to the choir because of our similar interests in our love for music and our common goal which is to minister, uplift, encourage and even motivate people. Music is therapeutic. A scientific research has even proven that music reduces blood pressure, one problem that claims millions of lives every day. So we as a choir use this natural remedy to help people, give them a reason to live, to find hope. There are a few feelings better than the one you have when you help people or when you’re surrounded with people of like minds. And not only did we focus on achieving our common aim. We were also keen on establishing relationship amongst one another, helping each other out, being there for one another even on issues beyond our ministry. For example we do this event occasionally. It’s called “Inspire Connect”. This is when a random person is assigned to you to give a treat, it could be in form of a gift, a dinner in or out, anything that comes to mind. Many times, we don’t even have to be told before we help each other out. I remember this time when I was having problems with one of my courses-Technical Drawing. I couldn’t really think of anyone to help until I approached one of my fellow choristers and she hosted me for the night, taught me and even helped with my assignments on several occasions and the outcome at the end of the term of excellent, even beyond expectations. All these little favors done to me or that I did really made me feel fulfilled and happy to be amongst them. And I know these values I learnt helped me alot in establishing relationships beyond and outside the group, helped me in demonstrating the pathos appeal which I know is going to be beneficial to me on a long
