My Explanation of Life Goals

High school is like the first half of a football game. It may carry excitement and struggles but the final score has yet to be determined. High school is a little rock that we must not trip on, in order to succeed in life. Some people may say it is the “final preparation before entering the real world”, but I say the real world has already begun. However some high school students are too scared and immature to face it. I know that leadership skills are just as important as communication skills. As I feel I have partially mastered both these skills, I am pretty confident to go out and take charge. However, practice makes better so having more time to put these skills at work during high school will make my self-confidence increase and never be afraid to be in charge of a group. I will make sure to lead people in the correct path to finish each task efficiently and on time. During my high school years I hope to make my friendship bonds even stronger than what they are now. I believe friends and family are very important in having a successful and bright future ahead. Thanks to friends we can remain strong and know that we always have a person to go to when we have problems. If a friend sticks with you after high school, best believe that person is a friend to keep! Friends are not just plain human beings; they become part of you and will help you be a successful human. High school should be a place where you learn how to communicate with people that are different than you. But personally my high school is mostly filled with Hispanics so I don’t really have the opportunity to explore the different ethnic groups that I will face in college. High school is a community of teenagers where some do not care, and others pursue a life filled with ambition, happiness, and new learning experiences. We get to decide

It 's the rock bottom of a student 's educational career: The day a student drops out of high school. From there, the world may seem to go down in a spiral. Today, 16% of dropouts are unemployed and 32% live below the poverty line. Dropouts with jobs earn an average of only $12.75 per hour (Messacar 55). Students who do graduate from high school have an unemployment rate of only 7.6% (Bureau of Labor Statistics). While the graduation rate may be improving, there are still some out there who find it hard to adjust to the high school atmosphere after leaving their cozy little middle school. Sometimes, middle school poorly prepares their students for life in high school. Some students grow very stressed during their freshman year in high school which leads to a lower GPA. High school, somehow, is an interesting chapter of a person’s life. Automatically, a teenager feels a lot older when entering high school. He or she feels more mature, or at least most teenagers. Since they feel older, they want to start doing things that they would not be allowed to do while being in middle school. They want to start going to more parties; their social lives become an important part of their lives. All they want to do is hang out with their friends, not do homework nor study for tests. They do not want to learn or at least listen to things that “will not benefit them” for whatever career they wish to pursue at that moment. According to them, that knowledge will not be used by them during their whole lives. Sean Covey is the vice president of Innovations and Products at FranklinCovey, which is an organization that devotes to helping individuals and other organizations achieve greatness; he also is a popular speaker to youth and adult groups. He has written some books, including The 6 Most Important Decisions You’ll Ever Make, in which he has a chapter where he writes about the…

Many students in middle school think of High School as a place where teachers would not care about them or what they do, party, “freedom” etc. High School “can be that” when a student would make it that, but what really is, it’s a place where teachers prepare students for the big world and College. I didn’t really see that in High School my freshman and sophomore year. I saw it like the rest of the “party animal’’ students did in middle school. Instead of staying home and studying for exams, I would go out to clubs on school days, I would NEVER pay attention in class or Do my homework. I wanted to be like the rest of the “cool” kids. On my Sophomore year I calmed down a bit, I payed attention in school, didn’t really go out and “party” on school nights but I was unorginazed, my notes were awful and some didn’t even make sense! I never really saw my report card last year because my grades where that bad. I ended up going to summer school and making up ALL of my classes.…

However, high school can be a great experience. It is what you make of it that will make high school the best or worst years of your life.…

I would like to start off by saying that when I started highschool, I hated it. 6 am is too early to be waking up to school, especially for teenagers who are not only growing, but also participating in extracurricular activities and working jobs. 3 more years of high school after 9th grade seemed grating and almost unattainable; how could I possibly go through another 3 years of bullies, social hierarchies, and meaningless drama all the while waking up before the sun? Well, there aren't many options for people without high school diplomas, I only saw 2: live fast and die you or maxing out at 35k for the rest of your life. No thanks. The main thing that kept me going was the fact that after this, ‘ll never have to do highschool again, I believe high school is a social torture that one unfortunately has to go through to prove that they are…

Cliques have been around ever since my grandparents were in high school. The most common one would find are the jocks, preps, and the nerds. People have dreams in their lives. Many aspire to be rich or to become business tycoons. Some persons dream of becoming leaders, politicians and social reformers. There are others who have a craze for becoming poets, writers and novelists while most of us generally have a desire of becoming engineers, doctors and scientists of great repute.
