Personal Narrative: High School Vs Middle School
High school is a place totally different from Middle school. High school is a place where it would be the best or worst four years of your life, and maybe change who you are. I remember in middle school I would be very outgoing and not care what people thought, but for some reason I do care now.

In middle school I remember being loud, crazy, and have a lot of sarcasm. I would always be talking and sometimes smile. Now I’m just loud with my friends, smile with friends, and have sarcasm to everyone. I think now that I have entered high school I have been less me, I am only me with my friends. Back in middle school and even elementary I wasn’t anxious about being myself and now I am. I sometimes think what would happen if I was more me and sometimes

My junior year in high school I took two classes from teachers who gave immense amounts of work on difficult material. The classes were Honors Pre-Calculus and Advanced Biological Studies II. After a day at school and a demanding golf practice until dark, it was time to start my homework. By then I was already exhausted, but I still had hours of homework ahead of me. Most schools nights I would not be able to start my hefty pile of homework until 8 o'clock. Many nights the strenuous assignments given in Honors Pre-calculus and Advanced Biological Studies II kept me awake late into the night, even as late as 4 am. It was difficult struggling to stay awake and complete my strenuous workload after an entire day of activity. A full night of sleep…

I see high school as deeper work, more responsibility, and more homework. The teachers are a lot harder on you. In high school, you get more freedom than in middle school because you’re older. There is harder work because the standards are higher. There is more responsibility because the teachers think you can do it and you have to keep up with more books and stuff.…

Starting high school was a terrifying idea to me. Different teachers, class times, lockers, drama! I remember that I always looked up to my older sister while she was in high school. She had tons of friends, played sports, participated in student government, and went out for the school play. I wanted to be just like her when I started high school. In middle school, I lined myself up for this, I played soccer in the fall and basketball in the winter. I helped out in the school plays, and I joined the student government. I had a group of great friends, and thought nothing bad was going to happen.…

Ten years old is rough for kids, but what happened to me made those pre-teen years even worse. My parents had been divorced for two years when the unthinkable happened, my dad announced he was getting remarried. I was introduced to the woman named Melissa and her daughter Audrey, but I was unaware that the joining of the two families would impact my life forever. Though the road was not easy, Melissa helped me discover who I was meant to be, and the things she taught me affect me everyday.…

High school is a different experience for everyone. The first three years really blend together and do not seem important, but senior year is completely different. Freshman year was full of confusion, learning an array of new things. Sophomore year was where life started to get fun and you “belonged” in the high school. Junior year was where you see the little light at the end of the tunnel, but it was filled with anxiety and frustration. Senior year is where it all becomes worth it and the rest of your life is finally going to begin.…

Instead of bouncing around as rambunctious young boys do, he trudged slowly in a peculiar meter of half-steps toward the doorway. He was living a new life in a new school that was filled with people who might as well have been aliens to him.…

Middle school years are in your memory for a long time, especially the great times. Being in middle school for 3 years has changed many people. As middle schoolers, our newfound title as “teenagers” or "preteens" is something we don’t fully understand. We begin to realize that people are diverse in so many ways, but our lack of maturity makes us believe that being different is bad. We are told to get mature and quick in just a short span of time that we cannot even digest what mature means. Suddenly school is no longer the friendly playground; instead, it is a jungle in which we are deciding our friends based on the fact to be socially acceptable. I will always remember middle school as three long years of trying to establish my character,…

Junior high years are learning years; you learn about yourself, you learn about your peers, and you learn how to fit in like everyone else. These first years “on my own” so to speak, was when social anxiety began to creep into my life. I never wanted to leave the comfort and safety of my house, I went from loving to learn at school to dreading walking down the halls alone with my head down, and I decided to not talk in any…

I attended middle school at St.Mary’s in Middletown N.J., and at Bayshore Middletown School in Leonardo, NJ. I had went to St Mary’s from kindergarten to the sixth grade, I had left and went to Bayshore seventh and eighth. I was extremely nervous when I saw how large Bayshore was for just a middle school was for three grades. Bayshore is on the popular/main road Leonardville Road and St. Mary’s was off of Leonardville Rd onto Church Street. Bayshore was right across from route 36. St. Mary’s is right next ‘the Junction’ and Mater Dei Prep High School. Our school colors were blue and yellow, with a Saint/Dolphin as our mascot. I was terrified on my first day in seventh grade. Hundreds of questions were filling my mind the night before! What…
