Explain Why High Schools Should Have Open Lunches
I believe that high schools should have open lunches. Students should be able to leave the school grounds and go to a fast food restaurant, or, if they choose should at least be able to go outside and eat. Students need to have a small break from school during the day, even if they are outside, they still can take their minds off of school work for a while. Students need to have fresh air and adequate sunlight. Fresh air and sunlight is a proven fact to help students in their studies and it also helps the students concentrate more. I understand that the school staff would not like the fact that the students would be able to leave campus without supervision. Are not the students in high school? Should we not have the responsibility to be able

Since 2009 kids all over the world have been changed and not by appearance by their diet at school. Michelle Obama has made it her destiny to change everyone's lunch. Now what make’s her think that she can just but in like the way she already has? Well the fact is, is that she wants kids to be more healthy so instead of giving us a normal amount of food which most middle schoolers eat a lot of she decided that she would make us healthier and cut that in half. She also has decided that she would also make our food healthier by making the food whole grain, no wheat, no gluten things like that. My opinion is that I think this is just wrong.…

“So from eating out, we can also learn how to make wise choices.” This would make students prepared for college by enabling them to leave campus and eat what they want. This independence would get kids ready to face the real world. “It provides a semi-sheltered climate to allow students to grow and become responsible.” This would give teens the privilege of not being watched every second of the day. If students disobeyed the rules of when they should be back, they could take away the privilege or give punishment. Throughout high school students don’t have very many opportunities to show how independent they are any letting them leave for lunch would be a perfect way for teens to show teachers they can be trusted and can survive in the real world.I know a lot of high school students who are very shy and keep to themselves. With the ability to leave school during lunch, kids would become more outgoing because there would be many more chances for them to socialize and interact with the real world. “If students have the privilege of off-campus lunch, they will gain more responsibility and more experience on how the real world works.” All kids have a big part in the future of our job…

I don't think kids my age should have the responsibility to leave school during lunch. I think that a lot kids would be late coming back when school starts again. I think kids would not know were to go so they would just sit on the side of the street or something. I also think that no one would be able to go anywhere anyways.…

Responsibility is heavily enforced anywhere you go, especially in schools, a big part of this is learning to do things on your ow. Having more lunch options can make students think about some of the healthier options or the cheaper priced item if on a budget or a diet. They can also learn how they can make good nutritious a meal with the money they have. The lunch room could have a regular meal, such as a cheeseburger or a chicken sandwich, a salad bar, with just a normal green salad or mix it up and have a daily salad schedule, like a regular salad one day and chicken salad and crackers or bread the next day. We could also benefit from a sandwich station, with ham, turkey, cheese and other toppings. There would now be something for everyone to choose from. They students would also have to choose their sides and watch the prices so that to justify as a meal. The salad bar or sandwich station may cost a little extra so it would be good for students to have to learn to watch what their lunch money account has in it often. School lunches cost around $2.50, but a salad bar could be up to $5.00 according to The Playwickian. This does not include any add-ons like as parfaits, chips and such. By giving students more options they can become more independent and…

According to Change.org, 9 out of 10 students say they would eat something else besides lunch food if they had a choice. A variety of food choices outside of school will benefit a student's health. Likewise, teens need the option to go out and take a break from their 8 hour school day. According to a student on Change.org, “refreshing our minds before the next few classes would really help us focus more, being in a happier environment.” Students need a break from slaving in a desk all day, doing school work. Leaving school for lunch gives students some fresh air and time to relax their brain. Leaving school to go get lunch would help students with their physical and mental…

To start off, school lunches taste horrible, and students deserve better. Many students will walk up to the cafeteria line expecting to enjoy what’s being served, when it reality, they approach the food and it looks disgusting. Multiple times students at Auburndale High school won’t enjoy the food that they picked out originally. Sitting down at the lunch table they would realize that the fruits such as apples or bananas are rotten or the chicken sandwich that was picked out is still undercooked and mushy. Imagine starving all day and then when it comes time for the lunch, nothing is appealing as it should be.…

An open campus freedom would not only just let students go where they please; it would also give the students a responsibility to manage their time. Many administrators on the board of education do not think that a high school student should have such a responsibility. They would tell us that we are too immature to be able to manage time during the school day. I think that students are mature enough to have such a freedom placed within their grasps. I can anticipate that the opposition will be outraged by all students receiving this freedom and responsibility. If such a concept as open campus could be arranged, there surely would be rules and regulations placed in effect to ensure that the school will not have liability of the student once off school…

School lunches lack healthy nutrients that growing children and teens need. Because, schools lack the proper funding needed to support students with healthy lunches, students have a horrible diet. A lot of people, including myself, believe that if healthy school lunches were provided students at home would make better choices when it came to what snacks they ate between meals. If schools got better funding for healthier lunches it could theoretically save the government more money because the students in turn would have less health problems.…
