Persuasive Essay On School Lunches
Since 2009 kids all over the world have been changed and not by appearance by their diet at school. Michelle Obama has made it her destiny to change everyone's lunch. Now what make’s her think that she can just but in like the way she already has? Well the fact is, is that she wants kids to be more healthy so instead of giving us a normal amount of food which most middle schoolers eat a lot of she decided that she would make us healthier and cut that in half. She also has decided that she would also make our food healthier by making the food whole grain, no wheat, no gluten things like that. My opinion is that I think this is just wrong.
No one and specaily the first lady should make it their way and change school lunches across the country. This lunch situation is not going to change things, kids will still go home (hungry) and eat Mcdonalds or pizza hut or any fast food restaurant they choose so what is Michelle Obama gonna do then take down ALL fast food restaurants?

And for a drink they will have soda and kool aid jammers. Granted not every student has an unhealthy meal but a lot of kids with cold lunches do. And I understand that I eat the meal’s our school makes and it not the staffs fault they have special orders such as like chips can’t have more than 100 calories. But my point is why do they have to shorten or make smaller proportions, no one should be able to tell anyone how much they can and I understand that for some people you can't such as diabetics but not any other growing

How would a student feel if they knew that the USDA allowed the school to provide meals which could make them unhealthy, or even sick? Lunch, as most know, is a very important part of a student’s school day. The food eaten at lunch should provide enough energy to complete the school day as a focused, learning student, and, for some students, to get through after school activities such as athletics and clubs; however, it is being seen more and more often that this is not the case. Chatham County Schools needs to improve its school lunches because the quantity, quality, and cost ratios are inadequate for the success of their students.…

First, students are not buying these new, healthier lunches because they cannot enjoy them. I agree that me, and everybody else that attend this school. Should have a healthier lunch menu. Some individuals are going to have a problem with that. Because we're going to have to get rid of some of our favorite foods. But I think if we all get together and have a school meeting. And talk about how it's going to help and benefit us. Then the people that disagree. Might have a better understanding, and agree on a healthier lunch menu. The main reason why I want to change to a new, healthier school menu. Is because if we have food that is not good for us, and we keep on eating and eating. Most people are going to gain to much weight. Then eventually become obese. Another reason is if we have healthier food. People like me that have…

Responsibility is heavily enforced anywhere you go, especially in schools, a big part of this is learning to do things on your ow. Having more lunch options can make students think about some of the healthier options or the cheaper priced item if on a budget or a diet. They can also learn how they can make good nutritious a meal with the money they have. The lunch room could have a regular meal, such as a cheeseburger or a chicken sandwich, a salad bar, with just a normal green salad or mix it up and have a daily salad schedule, like a regular salad one day and chicken salad and crackers or bread the next day. We could also benefit from a sandwich station, with ham, turkey, cheese and other toppings. There would now be something for everyone to choose from. They students would also have to choose their sides and watch the prices so that to justify as a meal. The salad bar or sandwich station may cost a little extra so it would be good for students to have to learn to watch what their lunch money account has in it often. School lunches cost around $2.50, but a salad bar could be up to $5.00 according to The Playwickian. This does not include any add-ons like as parfaits, chips and such. By giving students more options they can become more independent and…

New legislation passed in the US limits the calorie intake of school meals to 650 calories for elementary school, 700 calories for middle school and only 850 calories for high school students(Health and Family). These calorie levels are only a fraction of what active teens require for their daily intake. In a simple calorie generator found online, I plugged in my gender, height, weight, age, and exercise level to find out my recommended daily intake. My daily calorie need was 3800 calories. This number is fairly high for the average teen, who should be getting around 2,500 calories, but many other athletes require similar levels of energy to mine. Michelle Obama’s new lunch policy requires high school lunches to have between 750 and 850 calories. Using the recommended number given to me by the calorie generator, I found that the school lunches are less than 20% of my required daily intake. This means that at lunch, one of the bigger meals of the day, I am only getting 1/5th of my required calorie intake to maintain healthy energy levels and body weight.…

The reason is the meal is not good, and way overpriced. School lunches cost $3.50, if we were to buy food for a lunch at home it would be more effective. The students would be able to eat what they want, and how much they want. For the amount of food we get, the price is way too high. Why do we have to pay for gross lunches because our school won’t allow us to go home and eat? Obama doesn’t need to worry about obese students anymore. Students who are obese most likely know that they are, and their parents know too. I don’t think Obama needs to get involved with it, because most parents are already helping their obese children. Being obese is no one else’s problem but theirs. We don’t need to be punished for them being overweight. Now that most high school students can drive, going home for lunch would be…
