On Friday, March 8, 2013, I was involved in an automobile collision in my 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. The time was approximately 6:45 a.m. The account number related to this vehicle is 78811654. I was coming to a stop at a red light at the intersection of Stark St. and Liberty Ave., and then a grey 1996 Ford F-150, Oregon plate 364 EUC, driven by Alex Johson rear-ended me. Mr. Johson seemed unaware that the light at the intersection had turned red, and failed to come to a complete stop. The impact was not severe, but my car will need repairs to the rear bumper, trunk, and driver’s side taillight. I have enclosed photos of both cars after the impact, and Mr. Johson’s insurance information. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. This technology could not only prevent that accident but the thousands of others that occur all the time. Although it seems there are many positive aspects to self-driving cars, many people still question whether the technology in the trucks would be able to process in high weather situations such as a hail storm, snow storm or heavy rain. They worry that in a snow storm the cameras, or technology sensors would not be able to operate at a functional level allowing the trucks to render mistakes. If the technology in these trucks are as high-tech as technology in our everyday life, medical use and so much more, being able to manipulate so it can operate under harsh conditions should not be of high difficulty. In the trucking industry, many have to drive countless hours to get to their final destination. If 18-wheelers had this technology, it may be possible for some of the employees to take a short nap to re-energize them. Of course, we should not rely soul on the truck driving itself completely without us actually watching the road, but under certain conditions this could be…

We were finally ready to leave and began walking to the car, which during the walk I remembered I needed to stop and get gas. So we headed to the gas station, filled up CoCo, which was my first vehicle, and were off to the dinner. In order to get to the dinner we had to get on the I-10 to I-110. We started off at great start on the highway. Crazily, only ten minutes into the ride we faced complications. While driving in the middle lane on I-10, an eighteen wheeler truck felt the need that it had to get over from the left lane into the middle. With the position I was in I could neither get over to my right nor to my left due to other vehicles being there. There was also a vehicle behind me. The truck began veering over to the right into my lane. I began to honk my horn and slow down as much as possible without causing the car behind me to hit me. I assumed the truck would realize by my honking of the horn it just was not the best time for him to come over into the lane I was in. Unfortunately he did not, and by the time the vehicle behind had gotten over for me to slow down even more the back of the truck hit the front of my car. The truck was lower than usual and the back hit the hood of my car sending my car spinning three times thereafter smacking into the barrier on the bridge. Initially, I was frozen in my seat thinking how fast it escalated but how slow it felt as far as spinning and hitting the…
