Essay On Mango Object
The first object that I chose to represent me is my puppy Mango. Mango has been my puppy since 2011. I chose Mango as my first object because I am an animal lover and I'm obsessed with animals. But out of all the animal groups I prefer the birds, mammals, and the reptiles the most. Last summer I volunteered at a fundraiser for the animals at my nearby animal hospital. It was so much fun. Also during the beginning of the school year I took horseback riding lessons.

The second object that I chose to represent me was my basketball. I chose my basketball because I have played Basketball since I was eight years old and i’ve been on a team since I was nine. Plus I love sports so much. I am recently playing basketball, volleyball, and I swim. I love sports so much

These represent me because one of my top hobbies is to Bake. I was taught by my mom, when I was only 5 years old. And ever since then i’ve opened up a whole new world of possibilities. Then after my mom taught me the basics my Aunt introduced me to more of the higher levels of the art of baking. And now I have had many new traditions passed down to me like making the holiday cookies for our easter celebration, also for making the blueberry, cherry, and meringue pies for my family's Fourth of July party.

The fourth object that I chose to represent me are my Girl Scout Vests. The vests represent me because I have been in a Girl Scout Troop since the beginning. As some people would say “I was an original”. By that I mean that I was one of the starters of the troop as well as my friend Marin. I have earned tons of badges over the years, and each one led me to a new adventure.

Finally my last object that I chose is this scrapbook that I made myself. I chose this object because I am a very crafty person and on my free time I love to just sit around and do arts and crafts. To me arts and crafts are a way to express my feelings and

Money is the root of evil. A Long Way Gone and The Bite of the Mango are both memoirs of the Sierra Leone Civil War. Although the book does not touch upon the causes of the civil war, through research diamonds were a main contributor and a cause of the war. Sierra Leone was embedded with diamonds and other luxurious stones, thus making it a gargantuan mining center. Diamonds caused tensions between the government and rebellious citizens, contributed to the emergence of the Revolutionary United Front (RUF) and supplied warfare to the RUF. Ibrahim Kamara states in a speech that “The root of the conflict is and remains diamonds, diamonds and diamonds”. The decade-long conflict affected numerous lives of innocent and vulnerable citizens. In spite…

My second artifact is a picture book that I made with all the pictures my grandpa and I took together for any type of holiday or a photo to share the fun memories we had together. I chose to make a picture book because I was very thankful to have my grandpa apart of most of my life. I couldn’t have done it without him through most of the hard times. It ties in with my larger theme because I appreciated everything my grandpa did for me before his passing.…

Asked to chose a shape I chose a stock chart. The stock chart represents me because it shows how I am unpredictable, how I rise, and how I show potential. I am unpredictable for example one football game I might get 5 sacks and the next I might get 1. I like being unpredictable because sometimes people don’t know what I’m gonna try to do or not do. Unpredictability is for someone like me because I’ll normally not show up on time but sometimes I will. A stock chart always rises just like me I grow older and smarter and all that. All stock charts show potential. I also show potential because I am just like any other kid. All kids show potential in their own way I think I show my potential in…

These are the top ten self concept aspects that represent me. I choose these aspects because these are the things that impacted my life the most or how I believe myself to be. For example, the most obvious one for me was that I am a Californian, I lived there most of my life and just recently moved to Splendora. However, I do still consider that my home because that is where I became who I am and it impacted my life the most. Also on that note, when I lived in California, I spent most of my time or vacations with my relatives, these people taught me important things I needed to…

Two heavy things that I carry physically and emotionally include the green ‘Do your job’ wristband and the weight of my team and how my actions can directly represent the team. I carry both of these things because they help me decide to make good choices when I’m not with my teammates or coaches. The weight of the wristband is a very light object but the weight of the football team is very heavy on me and everyone on the team. These things I carry demand me to make the right choices in my life because I represent all of my coaches and all of my coaches in the same way and by carrying the wristband I am able to constantly reminding myself of how I represent the team. The weight of the team is something that I wish I could sometimes put down because at times, it is intimidating knowing how you're going to represent the team but I made the choice to carry the wristband in order to remind me that I am always acting for all of my coaching staff and teammates.…

The object that I chose was the Statuette of Amun. This object would be categorized as a sculpture. This pure gold figurine represents the god Amun which has also been identified as Am, Amun, Amen, Ammon, Amon, and many other variations in spelling. Amun is an ancient Egyptian deity who was revered for being king of the gods and the supreme creator of not only all life but also heaven and the underworld. He was the ancient Egyptian god of fertility and life as well as the sun and air. (ancient history encyclopedia) Amun was “arguably the most important god in the Egyptian pantheon” (the met website). The first of the six objects is my family. My family even though we’re “broken” we’re very close. We tell each other almost everything and we always try to spend some part of our day with each other. My brother Austin is a Hopewell senior this year; he helps me with HW and projects on occasions, for example this project because his teacher also gave him this assignment before. Through him I have learned to help others. My oldest brother Joshua graduated from Hopewell in 2011 and now goes to CPCC. To go to college he works at three jobs, he is very determined and hardworking which is how I became hardworking. My mom is very caring not just for me and my brothers but for all of our friends and all of the neighborhood kids as well that is who taught me to be caring. Lastly, there is my dad he is very funny and has a great sense of humor he is the one that showed me to enjoy life and to always have fun. I’ve never told him but throughout my life he has been my greatest role model for me for that I love him.…

My favorite object is a hand-made purse which I received in Cambodia last winter. As a member of a charitable organization, I signed up for an international voluntary camp and was assigned to Cambodia. This was the first time I traveled abroad. With a huge expectation and a bit of anxiety on the plane, I cannot help imagine what I am going to face later. No sooner had we arrived the local school than the students enthusiastically welcomed us at the gate. We taught some poor children after class to improve their English ability. They were such active students that showed their eagerness to learn. It really touched my heart. I have not only broaden my horizon but have also developed a strong attachment with those innocent kids during the ten days. Therefore, when it came to the day to leave, my eyes were filled with tears and felt rather reluctant to separate from them. To my astonishment, they held a farewell party for us, giving me a knitted colored purse which was made by themselves.…
