Football Team Strength
Two heavy things that I carry physically and emotionally include the green ‘Do your job’ wristband and the weight of my team and how my actions can directly represent the team. I carry both of these things because they help me decide to make good choices when I’m not with my teammates or coaches. The weight of the wristband is a very light object but the weight of the football team is very heavy on me and everyone on the team. These things I carry demand me to make the right choices in my life because I represent all of my coaches and all of my coaches in the same way and by carrying the wristband I am able to constantly reminding myself of how I represent the team. The weight of the team is something that I wish I could sometimes put down because at times, it is intimidating knowing how you're going to represent the team but I made the choice to carry the wristband in order to remind me that I am always acting for all of my coaching staff and teammates. …show more content…
Without being on the football team I would not make the choices I do because I would have no one to represent for but because I am on the team anything that I get into trouble with is a direct representation that looks bad on the team and my

    The weights are a critical part to the text to help compare physical, emotional and mental weight. O”Brien starts off by describing something as small as a letter from a women name Martha in which First Lieutenant Jimmy Cross carried. O”Brien uses this letter as a way to give others a visual thought of how something so light can be heavy. He continued to say that soldiers carried things that were determined by necessity which weighted between fifteen and twenty pounds. The transition from light weight to a heavier weight allows readers to project an image that will enable them to compare the different weights. This book is written about the American soldiers that served in the Vietnam War. In the beginning of this book O Brien instantly gives us a huge nudge as to why this book titled this by telling us what each soldier carried on their backs during this war. He explains how heavy the equipment they have to carry, and how little they can carry from their actual life. He mentions the tangible items the soldiers brought such as pictures, medicine, bibles, and other tangible sentimental items.
