Essay On Cellphone Use While Driving
Cellphones are used in daily life. Cellphones help others communicate and learn more about a variety of topics on the go. However, some individuals do not use these devices properly. Many drivers have a habit of driving a vehicle while using a cellphone. This has lead to the outlaw of cellphone use while driving. Those who agree with this law believe it will be very helpful to their community, while those against it believe the law infringes on their rights. Those against this law have not considered the positive affects this will have on many citizens. Therefore, cellphone use while driving should not be allowed! Those against the outlaw of cellphone use while driving believe that many important messages and phone calls could be missed or ignored if …show more content…
It can be hard to manage two things at a time. This new law can teach drivers about time management, and how to use their time wisely. Drivers will learn that they need to make time in their schedules to contact other people. Having to multitask means that the person did not manage enough time out of their day to use their cellphone. To add on to the arguments of missing important messages and being able to multitask, those not in favor of the new law assert the idea that it goes against the right to use their phones. Although, this is the complete opposite. This law teaches about the fair use of property by letting others know when to use it. If someone broke the law, their phone may be confiscated. This is to prevent any additional trouble caused by this item. Having property such as a cellphone is a privilege, not a right. You are not required to own a cellphone as your own property. To conclude my argument, cellphone use should be banned while driving. This law will prevent accidents, help manage time and teach about the correct time to use certain items. There is a time and a place for everything. Driving requires all of your focus, whether you just got your license, or have been

A Risk or a Benefit? As of 2000, there were about ninety million cell phone users in the United States, with 85% of them using their phones while on the road (Sundeen 1). Because of evidence that cell phones impair drivers by distracting them, some states have considered laws restricting their use in moving vehicles. Accidents happen everyday on the road. Some are from bad weather conditions, others are because the driver is under the influence of alcohol, and many are caused by distracted drivers on their cellular phone. If people were more aware of how many people are injured or killed by someone who was using their phone while driving , then they wouldn't use their own phone while driving. If making a law that says it is illegal to use a handheld phone and drive will make people stop becoming distracted while driving, then it should be put into effect. A solution for a driver who wants to use their phone while driving would be to use the hands free option on their phone, or to purchase a tool to hold the phone while driving.…

Humans understand with actions follow repercussions, whether these repercussions are negative or positive is up to circumstance. To keep a well-balanced government, the government must provide consequences for several things including acts that do harm to others. Texting while driving causes harm to many people annually. In many cases the driver who was texting while driving survived the accidents however, the people they hit may not be as fortunate. Families are broken and people are lost due to this negligence and the U.S government must put a stop to it. If there was a heavier and more serious consequence for people who text while driving the amount of accidents caused by this will decrease dramatically. Also consequences will provide justice for the families that have lost loved ones because of the mistake of another driver. Once this ban is in order the deaths caused by texting while driving will dramatically decrease and the people that are affected by it may receive…

Cases of traffic accidents and/or fatalities involving a distracted driver by the use of this device have become more frequent and are starting to change the prospective on how this topic is being viewed. Texting while driving has been a problem in the United States ever since texting was introduced. Many drivers think that the safety of their social lives is a higher priority than the safety of the lives around them, or even the safety of their own lives. Many states have come to the conclusion that this is a major issue and that it must be addressed, so they made it illegal to use a cell phone while driving. Passing a law forbidding the use of cell phones while driving is a good idea because it will prevent many distracted drivers from causing major accidents on the road. Many states have banned the use of hand-held devices while driving. Knowing about all the people that have been killed in accidents involving cell phones, I one-hundred percent agree with this law. Using your cell phone while driving can lead to lack of focus on the road, especially among young drivers who are not as experienced as their adult counterparts. Driving takes an extreme amount of concentration, due to the many things that could happen on the road. I do support in the fact that texting a driving should be considered illegal, mainly for the soul purpose that many people die because of the distractions on the road that your phone can cause. “In the past three years alone, 30 states have banned texting while driving, the only state that has not done it yet is Oklahoma.” (Delcour 2) You see on the news that there are many teenagers now a days that get into car accident why? BECAUSE THEY WERE TEXTING AND DRIVING! “Last year, despite assurance by S.C. lawmakers that a texting ban would be passed, obviously it died without coming up for a final vote.”(EDITORIAL 6) I know people who try to text and drive but we always remind them that there are other people in this care ad unless they want the guilt of their friends death due to their carelessness then that’s up to them. When I get behind the wheel of a car I turn my phone to silent and I don’t turn it back up until I that car is stopped and I get out of that car, I don’t sit there at a red light or a stop sign reading text messages or taking calls while I’m behind the wheel of a moving vehicle. It is unsafe to not only you but the people in your car, and the people outside of your car as well like other drivers, pedestrians, animals, etc. I think that if it were to become illegal then it should not only have one ticket for texting while driving but also another one for being stupid to put yourself and other in a dangerous risk of dying or getting seriously hurt. “Fifty-eight percent of those under 45 say texting while driving should be punished less severely than driving while intoxicated, while 65 percent of those over 45 say the severity of the punishment should be equal for both.” (CBS 6) I am still kind of a new driver myself but I do know how to stay safe on the road from anything that may distract me and end up causing a lot of damage.…

and ____ will be evaluating me this evening. I want to begin by asking you all to do something for me. Think of a moment that you have experienced that you consider life changing. For some, this might be the birth of your first child, graduating high school or college, deciding on your future career, meeting the love of your life, or getting your first big job opportunity. All the examples that I mentioned have something in common. They’re monumental moments that we planned for, that we put time and energy into with the hopes of making our dreams possible. Hopefully, all of these moments have changed our lives for the better. It was through researching this project that I realized that this isn’t always how life works. Sometimes, it doesn’t matter how we plan it ... it doesn’t matter how we envision it. Sometimes, the moments that change our lives happen in spite of our most intricate plans. Tonight, I want to talk to you about texting and driving.…

Cell phones are one of the most important creations ever since the telephone itself. With the creation of the telephone we were able to communicate with other human beings all across the world thus allowing us to communicate valuable information to family, and friends. This invention also created various job opportunities to many people in the form of telemarketing. You can quite clearly see how amazing the invention of the telephone is and it has gone through many innovations, the most important one being the cell phone. It has all the capabilities of a telephone, but includes internet, games to entertain you, cameras, and various applications that makes effortless life feasible. A cell phone is a very useful tool as you can see, but there is a time and place where you can use it. I believe cell phones should not be used when operating a motor vehicle. Doing so not only risks your life but another human being’s life. No text or call is worth yours, or another person’s life. I agree with the state legislature abolishing the use of cell phones and hope this can prevent the recurring accidents due to use of cell phone while operating a motor vehicle.…
