I think the form used here is alright. Though there is not much detail in the background especially behind the house and the big tree, it appears that O’Keeffe did a good job. The balance looks informal because of the big tree and the house taking up a lot of the watercolor. There are a few little trees in front of the house and big tree. I think the validity of this watercolor is that O’Keeffe was true to herself.…

The objects that she uses are always ones that she has found. She wanders around her local surroundings and collects junk. She has been called an artistic hunter and gatherer.Gascoigne preferred weathered and rustic materials because she believed they had essence of life. She based her selection of materials on the surface, shape and colour of the objects. She wouldnt alter the surface in anyway but would saw, split and fragment the materials for a more interesting composition. Gascoigne paid attention to the order and placement of her work; she especially liked to work in a grid format.…

Using inks was a completely new experience for me as was colouring on black paper I liked using both. Then I did another 2 pictures of natural pictures one of scallops in coloured pencils and one of horse chestnuts done in chalk and then I coloured in the background in grey chalk. After this we started concentrating on landscapes more. Firstly I made a picture of two tree's one copied from Van Gogh and one of my own creations. I was very unhappy with both of these pictures I thin I could of improved them by spending longer on the backgrounds. Then carrying on with the landscapes theme we did 2 pictures of skies by famous artists one done watercolour a copy of a sky by Turner and one by Van Gogh in pastel. I was quite happy with both of these pictures and I liked making the strange effects of the Van Gogh sky with pastels. I also looked at the style of art noveau, which I found very interesting, and I was quite pleased with my picture in coloured pencils, the picture was of a design off fruits. I also did a picture again in acrylics, this was a copy of a painting fruits on a table by Paul…
In creating a the rendering of a person you must first chose the right medium and support for your drawing, usually a paper of adequate thickness and tooth grade. (Smith pgs. 42-51) If the drawing is to be a long kept picture the quality of the paper must be considered. An acid free base with a PH of between 7-9. Once you have chosen the paper you must also think about the medium, I prefer charcoal or graphite pencil for sketching. I high quality in either would be appropriate. (Smith pgs. 91-99) Each has qualities that are unique to the medium chosen. Graphite pencil can display great detail and precise markings while charcoal can result in rich depth and texture.…
There are several ways to produce manga art. With the proper tools, drawing manga can be a successful and fun event. Each person has their own preference when it comes to equipment. You will need a basic set of materials so you can sketch, use ink, and color your drawing. Let’s start with paper. It is recommended to use two types of paper. Use one for creating sketches and one for producing the finished color artwork. Next, choose some pencils for your drawings. “Pencil sketching is probably the most important stage, and always comes first when producing manga art.” (Li Yishan, Massive Manga Techniques for Drawing, Inking, and Colouring, 2011, pg 13) You should be sure to choose pencils that feel good when you hold them, and don’t refrain you from expressions. There are pencils that range from soft to hard lead. You can, also, try mechanical pencils. Mechanical pencils never lose their point, so you don’t have to worry about sharpening them. Colored pencils need sharpening, but sometimes, it is best to use them when they are blunt. When colored pencils are blunt, you can change the color of tone and shades by building up the layers of colored pencil.…
My red lips should really stand out before anything in my drawing. In my painting I did not use any repeating colors, it was all diffrent. I used alot of textures and shading in my painting. The shading was used to make my shirt pop out and look real, the same goes for my hair and lips. The elements used in this painting is blended shading and hue. these elements work together because the blended shading really made this work of art pop and look more realistic. The hue was created by all the diffrent colors that I chose, none of them were repeated so it gave my project a rainbow type of look. the hue was helpful, it really made my project look less boring to look at. In this painting theres alot of warm colors, I chose them so it could look kind of fun and happy.…
Raphael utilized drawing before committing to any canvas because it helped him brainstorm or allow him to make his first draft of the piece. The materials Raphael needed for his drawings most likely consisted of black chalk, red chalk, metal point or charcoal. For Raphael’s paintings, the materials he needed mostly consisted of oil with pigments on wood, panel, or canvas for fresco paintings as well as Tempera on wood. For the Alba Madonna in particular, Raphael used oil paint on panel, which was then transferred to canvas. Raphael’s paintings were considered unique due to the large amount of paint he used. There are many difficulties when painting with oil in that era sheds some light on Raphael’s talent, and his amazing ability to create such detailed masterpieces with the unforgiving and ill-tempered form of medium (“Raphael Biography,” 2013).…
