Ender Qualities
The qualities that make Ender a successful leader is that he was hard working, he had empathy for others, and he was a decent person who was respected. One of the reasons Ender was a successful leader was that he worked hard to prove himself and become a good leader. Ender was chosen by Colonel Graff to become a commander but Colonel Graff also isolated Ender from the other boys by praising him and because of what Graff did Ender had to work hard to prove he could succeed by himself. When Ender was moved to the command school he was once again isolated and worked hard there because of that so he could become a person who could lead.

When Ender was at battle school and command school he had empathy for other people like Shen and Bean. He

helped them in some way because of this. He gained people who were loyal to him because of his empathy. Having empathy for others means that when something happens it is understood that some things are not those peoples fault and the empathy to understand why and how they might be feeling is a good thing.

A third reason Ender was a successful leader is that he was a decent person who had respect from others. Throughout the book, Ender helped other people and had empathy for them. He helped those that were being bullied and gave the people who were being bullied and the people who were bullying a chance to change and become better fighters and tacticians who came up with new techniques. Ender became a leader to those people, became respected by them, and gave them a chance to prove themselves.
‘He went through the paces of practices and games. He liked teaching the boys in his toon, and they followed him loyally. He had the respect of everyone, and he was treated with deference in his evening practices. Commanders came to study what he did. Other soldiers approached his table at mess and asked permission to sit down. Even the teachers were respectful. … That's how they think of me, too. Teacher. Legendary soldier. Not one of them.’ (Card, ch.

One day, a man who belongs to the “ International Fleet” comes to his house and asks to see Ender. Ender was chosen to be part of the I.F not only because he was a third child(which meant he belonged to the I.F. already) but because of how he acted in certain situations. As you can probably tell, Ender’s Game is about a boy named Ender. Ender Wiggin is by far one of the most complex and intriguing characters you will find in books of this genre. Orson Scott Card, the author, created Ender to be a boy of intellect, tenacity, and compassion- all at once. Ender’s compassion is what separates him from the rest of the group. Ender bears a mindset far beyond his years, and many times he even outsmarts adults. As we read through the book, we see Ender evolve from…

The first characteristic that was seen was how Ender was valiant. His bravery was seen first in the book when he decided he wanted to go to Battle school. He said, “‘I'm afraid,”said Ender quietly. “But I'll go with you.’” (Scott 26). This was the first sign of this trait, he made himself leave on behalf of the war. Since he was so young, he did not know that he would become the next big general, but since…

The story has key themes in the book that makes it a better story. One example, is how the I.F. put monitors on children and then if qualified sent to Battle School to train. This shows the theme of how the government in the story was too controlling and had a lot of power. Ender’s life was controlled by Colonel Graff at the Battle school. He was not protected while there and he was isolated from everyone else. Ender was not given much of a choice to become this leader. Another example is when Dink told Ender that the real enemies are the teachers. Ender was put under a lot of pressure during the school battles because the teachers were forcing him to play one to two games everyday which was abnormal. Also the teachers were…

His sister, Valentine, was needed to convince him that he needed to reenlist and save the human population from the buggers (alien species). After his conversation with his sister Ender moves on to command school where he prepares to become the battle commander of the entire International Fleet. He trains with the great Mazer Rackham who had won the second invasion for the humans. Some of Enders close friends from battle school become his platoon leaders and help him win almost all of his battles. After much training Ender is faced with a final test in which he faces an almost unbeatable enemy where he only won by completely destroying their home planet and queens/controllers. It is then revealed to Ender that his training battles had not been training, it had been him facing a real enemy which he had destroyed. Although Ender is a hero, he feels horrible and is relieved that he finds a bugger egg with which he could repopulate the bugger race. As we read the book and watched the movie I believe that the book is better than the movie for many reasons. Some of these reasons include character development, details, and an overall better timing of…

In Ender’s Game, characters showing leadership often display eloquence in their speech and writing. The ability to use words in such an elegant fashion allows the user nearly unlimited potential. Ender convinces Bonzo to fight him alone by taking what he already knew about Bonzo’s history and using the information to verbally attack him, claiming that Bonzo had no honor. This event shows that Ender, the best example of a leader in the book, knows how to use words as weapons. Colonel Graff displays his persuasive side when convincing…

In the novel Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, the main character Ender is put up against one of the toughest challenges on his life. He becomes aware of his challenge when he becomes a little older, yet before that, little did he know that he will have to save the world. Ender in Enders Game is portrayed as a natural leader and fighter who is a killer at heart and can use his understanding of the enemy and natural skill to kill to destroy them. However, once he understands his enemy, he also feels compassion for his enemy. And because of this compassion, he hates himself for destroying his enemy. At the beginning of the story, Ender lives with one mean older sibling named Peter who always bullies him. He also lives with a loving older sister named Valentine, and because he has two older siblings, he was considered a "third". Ender and Peter were both competing to go to battle school in space, where they would learn to fight and destroy the buggers who want to destroy Earth. However, Ender was the only one to get accepted since Peter was too ruthless. Once in battle school Ender does very well for the time he was there and was promoted quickly. Soon, he was in Command school at a record young age. He does simulations of battles with the buggers and wins every single one of them. In the end he found out that the simulations were real and he had destroyed all the buggers but one, to whom he promised to let live in a safe place on a planet far away. Ender is characterized by his reactions in three key situations: When he is at home with his sister, in battle at the battle school, and with his enemies.…

Ender had incredible awareness of every moment and how he quickly adapted to whatever came his way. He had the ability to asses each situation, weigh the pros and cons, and act only on what was necessary for his survival. He made sound and timely decisions and he also demonstrated that he was technically and tactfully proficient. He never acted on ego, vengeance, pride or greed. His motives were straight, even as he fought his own inner battles. A lesson learned was that Building Loyalty was important when having, being a part of or leading a group of individuals. For example, when Ender became a commander of a green Army, he doesn't immediately order them around. He develops relationships and respect amongst his soldiers. He was insuring that he wasn’t a friend but more of a respected commander. Being able to Develop Flexibility and Teamwork Above All Else was also an important lesson. Despite the fact that Ender's soldiers were overworked; the…
