Ender's Game Movie Vs Book Essay
Would you give up your future to be a leader and save the future of the human race? This is the question that Ender Wiggin faced during the story of Ender’s Games. This fictional story takes place in a future Earth after an attack by Aliens called Buggers. The controlling government trained kids to become leaders to fight against the Buggers. Ender Wiggin is the main character of this story who was sent to battle to become one of these leaders. The Ender’s Game book is a better representation of the story, rather than the movie.
The story has key themes in the book that makes it a better story. One example, is how the I.F. put monitors on children and then if qualified sent to Battle School to train. This shows the theme of how the government in the story was too controlling and had a lot of power. Ender’s life was controlled by Colonel Graff at the Battle school. He was not protected while there and he was isolated from everyone else. Ender was not given much of a choice to become this leader. Another example is when Dink told Ender that the real enemies are the teachers. Ender was put under a lot of pressure during the school battles because the teachers were forcing him to play one to two games everyday which was abnormal. Also the teachers were …show more content…
The book was a better representation because it had more story and depth for developing characters which is key for readers to enjoy a story. Also readers can tell what characters are thinking in a book, and it is easier to understand them, while in the movie there is just dialogue. In the movie, it did not show all of the hardships Ender faced in becoming a commander. For Ender’s final simulation at command, without knowing, he destroyed a whole planet of Buggers who were just hopelessly defending their planet. The book made it clear of one theme, always know who the real enemy is before attacking because it could just end up being a futile
