Elf Play Analysis
The show Elf has been my first theater show ever and I thought it was a pretty amusing show. For example, the costumes of the actors did their job of what they wanted to portray with them. They were on point like Buddy’s elf costume and the other elves costumes matched their tops, shoes, and hats. Then as Buddy went to visit his father there was a whole different dress wear compare to his. They all had working, formal clothes with suit cases and all. Therefore, as when the transformation due to Buddy came it showed because he then wore a suit and some nice going out shoes. Although he also had a long thick sweater to show that it was a cold place. The cold interpretation of the place that was being held was great because they showed the actors …show more content…
The actors used the props well and easily it seemed because, like as they threw some of the props around they all were able to have control over them. So this means that the props were built light weight for them to be able to have manipulate them more accurately which, is something really smart to do with objects that are going to be tossed around. Furthermore, the snow Styrofoam prop was really clever because it looked like real snow and it was a cheap way to create snow and still make it look spectacular. The sound that was used was on point for example, like when Buddy got the bells and started “ringing” them the sound matched the movements he made with them. Also another great example, was when Santa’s sleigh crashed in the city it was a fabulous job that both sound and lights working together because made the scene more dramatic. As when the next part of a scene would happen, I liked that the music changed according to the mood it was trying to portray. The scene shifts are one of the parts that I enjoyed most because they would do the next scene in a quick pace that you would hardly notice

The soundtrack was impressive and gave suspense and drama as where needed. The special FX was up to date and gave a realistic feel to the movie. The cinematography is what brought this film's ratings up in my opinion. I really like the irony in the lightning, Especially Pegg's use of zoom-ins and quick cuts… hilarious. Also, the camera angles of when Ed drives himself and Shaun to his parent's house dodging zombies left and right was also very entertaining. I believe I almost jumped out of my seat in fright when Ed hit the lurking zombie speeding down the…

I loved every single tech element, especially costumes! The set was very simple. It put you in the mindset that you were off somewhere at some lake with the rest of the characters. When the story moved to different locations, the set corresponded. For example, the main character winds up in the home of a house cat and chicken, both whom have been domesticated. The set for this scene basically consisted of a giant cat scratching post and a futon for the chicken. I loved how the set basically went hand in hand…

Godspell, by Stephen Schwartz, is a musical that depicts counterculturalists from all walks of life coming together to learn from a Jesus figure. The play directly quotes the stories and parables found in the book of Matthew. While the play’s parables can be explored to find their overall message of love and redemption, the play can also be observed as an artifact of the countercultural movement.…

The set was well made and fit the time period quite nicely, but I could not help but feel it could have used a few more props to give the audience a better sense of immersion. It was often hard to tell where the scene was, or if the characters had changed scenes or not. Using more props would also give more distinction between events and places, making the overall scenes more memorable. One of the strongest points in the play was the costumes. They all were extraordinarily well made, and looked authentic. Some of the notable mentions are Prince Pedro’s uniform, the watchmen’s uniforms, and all the costumes in the ball scene. The costumes helped the audience remember which characters are which, and make the play more memorable.…

I attended the play on March 22nd. I have attended most of the plays here, at Waynesburg. Leading up to Professor Powers introducing the play and thanking the audience for their attendance, the audience seemed to be excited and engaged; talking about the various ways that the Addams family had enriched their lives. My friend and I had a seat in the middle in the center row, with an optimal viewing experience. The plays overall production concept such as the costumes, lighting and set added to the overall audience interaction, entertainment and understanding. The actors and the director did a good job of portraying the plays story, even to viewers who had no prior knowledge of the Addams family.…

From the warm yellow light for a Christmas party on Christmas Eve, to the hue light with snow falling, the lighting and special effect played an important role in completing the world suggested by the ballet. And I must say that the part where lighting and special effects did it best job was the performance of the Prince, Clara and many other dancers when they get to the Land of Sweets, when the snow is falling, creating a wonderful and magical images. This was the only time that they used special effects with a white theme - white dresses, white snow, white and hue lights. What a nice ending to Act I!…

There are many different choices that have been made to the set to alter the effects of the how the play is presented. The stage was set out in a professional manner with the use of props being very creative. The use of the area being divided into three separate stage areas made the use of scene changing easier and helped the audience to understand the setting. The stage that we were provided with for the production had very limited space and little room to work with but we used what we had well. The costumes that were use were very simple and effective. With…

Elements of the production really contributed to the performance. For seeing my first professional play, I was intrigued by how the props were able to roll in and out on their own. However, as I was sitting in the audience of the thrust stage in Centerstage before the production began, the falling snow really caught my eye. The director and scenic designer really were able to dig deep into finding a way to create the allusion of a slight snowstorm to a very heavy one. The way the café’s props were set up was impeccable because it really represented the timeframe the production was based in, 1955. The way the windows on the back prop was set to see the street out front of the café, covered in the fallen snow. My favorite part about the snow was how it was on the actor’s shoulders, on their hats and everything just as it would be in a real heavy snowstorm. It added a magic touch to the scene and set.…

I really enjoyed the look of the houses. The doors each had a different design, no two were alike. The bakery even had cakes and pastries painted on the window. When Christmas trees were in the seen they had beautiful ornaments dispersed throughout the tree The costumes also seemed very time appropriate with the long skirts and large over coats. Some characters had pocket watches and shaws. I really enjoyed the women’s skirts in the dinner scene at Fred’s house. The more elegant skirts and dresses for the dinner party was a great change from what the carolers had worn.…
