Most car accidents occur from the very bad habits of drivers everywhere. One of the most common habits is speeding. People everywhere abuse the speed limits. This is not only dangerous for the driver but the passenger and other drivers as well. Another bad habit is distracted driving. This can go as far as texting while driving or playing with the radio, etc. I see people everyday get into car accidents because they were paying more attention to their phones or their passengers. Now that we are in the future with more and more people buying vehicles, it’s no wonder it’s a challenge just to drop the kids off at school. I mean ok, most people say avoid traffic and leave early. Anybody else out there ever hear of that saying? Guess what? So have the rest of those snail moving people out there. The major problem lies not because of so many people, but the select few that fear the speed limit. Oh yes, I know you have seen it every day. Maybe you are the one reading this. But is it really that hard to go the speed limit or at LEAST mind your damn business. Minding your own business is the other problem. People can’t seem to figure out traffic build up is also caused by rubber neckers. You know when you see the bright blue and red from the fuzz on the right side of the road. I mean come on, the person pulled over is already embarrassed enough. They don’t need you eyeballing them up and down while you pass. I’m sure that person passed you up going 80 mph 10 minutes ago, only because you were going 60 in a 65 mph.…

Moreover, ignoring all driving laws is also an important factor for driving offensively. First, not going the speed limit will shorten a car ride. Going over the set speed-limit will shorten the time driving and more time will be spent at the desired destination. Second, ignoring all traffic lights will increase the flow of traffic and decrease traffic. Ignoring all traffic lights will decrease traffic flow by allowing more people to travel on roads without stopping, so there is no reason to…

An individual may arrive at an intersection where two lanes of traffic flow together. Without affecting any other drivers in his or her proximity, the individual allows the driver from the incoming flow of traffic to slip in front of them. This type of driving behavior may be more empathic without the praise of others. When a driver attempts to let someone in traffic at an inappropriate time, it interferes with the flow of traffic. This type of driving behavior may stem more from gaining social approval from others even though it is potentially irritating for the surrounding population.…

For most commuters, driving had become a daily occurrence. According to the American Safety Council, approximately fifty-six percent of men and forty four percent of women report of having road rage on a daily basis (Safemotorist.com). Road Rage is defined as anger and aggressive behavior by a driver who is upset by how another person is driving (Merriam-Webster). Most of the time, it is easy to spot out these aggressive drivers by their driving characteristics, but when it comes to the road, these angry drivers can become hard to avoid. But having the ability to notice the three characteristics of road rage can help, they are anger, anxiety, and impulse (Gaille, 2014).…

Going over the speed limit is a major reason in which many accidents occur in the United States today. If there is a set speed limit, there is obviously a reason, and it should not be ignored; however, in saying that it always is. Not only when speeding are you breaking the law, you might injure yourself or someone else, all because you thought you could get somewhere faster by exceeding the speed limit. I bet you were not thinking that you would be the reason in which someone innocent would be injured or even dead due to your ignorance.…

Young drivers are very immature when it comes to driving. They like to show off, and look cool in front of their friends or girlfriend. One of the main things that young drivers do to cause wrecks is text and drive. In 2009 over 5,000 people were killed on us roadways and nearly 448,000 injuries were reported due to distracted driving. Recent studies in 2011 show that 49% of 25 years and younger receive and send texts while driving. More so in the 16, 17, and 18 year old drivers. This is a sign of immaturity while driving. Also young new drivers will try and show off their cars by racing, doing burnouts, speeding, ect. Young drivers do all these things and all these things lead to accidents. According to AAA and Seventeen Magazine 34% of teens don’t think anything bad will happen while driving distracted. Now I think if young drivers are giving from 15 ½ to have their learners permit, and got there driving license at 18 years old it would give them more time to get to know how to drive, and realize how dangerous distracted driving really is. http://www.stoptextsstopwrecks.org/#facts…

Driving a car is no easy task, especially when someone is trying to learn it for the first time. For many people driving is a terrifying experience which they hate. For others, driving is more of a duty and want to be over with it as soon as they can. For people like us, we drive for the sheer heck of it. Ever since I was a youngster, I always wanted to learn how to drive. I loved cars-and I still do to this day, this is why part of me wants to become a mechanical engineer. At the age of 16 I was an upcoming Junior in high school, I didn’t realize I had the right to operate an automobile until my classmates all started getting their driving permits. I rushed to the dreaded DMV and acquired a copy of the 'Pennsylvania Driver's Manual'…

Have you ever been in a car accident before? I have, and it’s scary. But, when I felt the reassuring tug of the seatbelt on my shoulder and stomach- preventing me from crashing through the windshield – I was so relieved. When driving, you should pay attention to the rules so that not as many accidents mistakes happen. An example of an important rule is the time limits for a probationary license. When you are younger, you get more easily tired than adults. This is why there is a restriction for the probationary license, for the younger generation. When you’re under 17, you have to drive before 11 p.m. and after 5 a.m. Obviously, if you have a religious activity you can go, but this rule is just to make sure that when people are driving they are alert and NOT tired. Another variable that will make teens safer drivers are the safety decals. They alert other drivers as well as police officers that someone is a new driver. This can tell officers that you are new and may be inexperienced (more than others). So if you stop by the road, simply because you’re lost or since you have ran out of…

The older you are the wiser you will have become is a classic saying that adorns the elderly with experience and wisdom. One might recall endless stories beginning with “back in my day,” but what about the stories in present-day? Countless senior citizens have provided some interesting news stories for reporters in recent years; major accidents, which many have only seen in movies, have become real life due to elderly driving. In 2003, George Weller, an 89-year old man sped into a local farmers market. Ten people died and seventy were left injured. (CBS News). USA Today reported about a Elizabeth Grimes, a 90-year old woman, who was seen backing out of her driveway, across the lawn, and onto the adjacent curb. Only six blocks away she ran through a red light and slammed into a “17 year old high school junior who was driving to school to take an algebra test. Five days later she died.( Davis and DeBarros).” Westport news describes further accidents:…
