Strategy Implementation
Based on all the internal and external assessments, as well as the strategy analyses that we have performed using various matrices, we have determine that Dr Pepper Snapple Group are most suited to go for a product development strategy. Through product development, Dr Pepper Snapple Group would focus on consumers’ need, improve their current product line and expand their brand with new product creation. In addition, Dr Pepper Snapple Group should consider going for market development to boost their current products’ placement and promote new products.
To implement these two strategies that have been chosen, we have come up with a three-year plan for Dr Pepper Snapple Group to overcome the issues identified at the beginning. During the first year, Dr Pepper Snapple Group should concentrate on the process to create; by creating new sport drink as they do not have such product yet and the new sport drink should be tested to focus group, for example, athletes and sportsperson. Besides that, we suggest for Dr Pepper Snapple Group to create a variety of seasonal and festive drinks to adapt with climate and holiday season. Dr Pepper Snapple Group could invent a new drink flavour based on the holiday season, for example, a chocolate flavour drink for Easter or Halloween.

They could also create alliances with school districts and universities to increase the availability of their many products. Furthermore, to counter the problem of relying too heavily on third parties for bottling and distributing their products, Dr Pepper Snapple Group should search out mergers and acquisition opportunities for bottlers and distributors. This is because the industry is made up of about 3000 companies including manufacturers, bottlers, and distributers of non-alcoholic beverages that there should be plenty of such
