Major meetings and projects in regard to this report include those that were related to the throughput engagement. This is due to the fact that most of the meetings I attended were either due to the throughput engagement or I would provide updates about my observations, recommendations, project information and barriers. These updates were given during the OUMC huddles or discussions with the OU Medical Center executive leadership. Specific needs were determined after the start of my internship and upon attending initial meetings with the…
Engaging with staff registered nurses and providers proved to be of great value in determining what their ideal reporting tool would include. In addition to the SBAR format, staff expressed the need to identify the patient’s primary provider in the documentation.…

There are several characteristics I would have changed about the presentation. Firstly, none of the nurses voiced the aversion for the short staffing. I feel strongly about this being a issue and would have mentioned something to management or the…

I was able to learn a lot about different diagnosis but I’m glad that I was able to see how well the MD and the LPN’s are able to work together. They work as a great team and try to provide each patient with all the infromation that need. They help each other out and make me want to work in an enviroment like this. This was my first time doing a clinic rotation and I was surprised at how many patients are seen each day and how each staff member plays are huge role in the day! I did not know how much the MD truly depends on the LPN’s and RN. Every action that the MD does effects and is determined by the LPN. I was truly surprise at how big team work is in this enviroment.…
Whilst doing a-levels students are expected to deliver presentations on subject topics. In the progression module I had to create a presentations and deliver it, I followed all the information provided from the progression module and I feel I managed to deliver my presentation effectively remaining confident and clear at all times. Another thing the progression module prepared me for was interview, following the progression modules guidelines helped me develop all the positive and necessary skills required for delivering a questionnaire. After following these guidelines I was successful in my mock interview. I remained confident at all times, I did everything possible to express the knowledge and interest I had for medicine without showing arrogance. After…
My knowledge in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) continues to expand as I progress through the program. As I reflect over the past eight weeks, I have a better understanding of the differences between a research and a Doctor of Nursing Project. Prior to the DNP II, I was not aware of a DNP project. I also learned about the purpose of a research and informed consent form prior to entering a research study. The DNP program has helped me to understand the process of life -long learning (Collaborative Institutional Training Initiatives, 2015).…
0 Wednesday, 10/26/16-7.0 hours: Today, I conducted more BIMS interviews on some of the residents. I was able to learn about Allscripts and see how helpful it is in assisting with patient referrals. I was also able to attend a quality check meeting where a new patient family comes in and discuss their plans in the facility.…
My communication with the client’s was strong during the assessments as I was able to guide them on what I was doing. One thing that didn’t go so well for me was my presentation on stroke to the men at DOF. I was prepared for my part of the presentation as I had the notes I needed with me. I would know what I wanted to say, but I would hesitate and get nervous. What I would do in the future to change this situation, would be to calm myself down and enforce some confidence in myself; overall public speaking isn’t my best…

As a former physician assistant student, I am confident that my PA education will help me contribute to Mission Hospital’s Clinical Research team. During my PA courses, I learned about the steps of the drug development process, from Target Identification and Validation to Library and Preclinical Testing through FDA Approval. We also spent time analyzing the financial considerations of the drug development process as well as the ethical issues involved. Covered coursework included topics but are not limited to:…
