Different between secondary school and university
I used to say that I could not wait until I finished secondary school and have a greater say in what do. In reflection I can say that my experience in secondary school was more fulfilling for me than the university currently is for me. As I commenced my secondary school life, I was registered. Although I registered at the beginning of my university life, I have to register every semester for the courses that I would be pursuing. In addition, at secondary school level everything was handed out to me; while at the university I have to collect my information for different courses. I believe that secondary school was easier because if I did not understand a topic, teachers were easily accessed. If I do not understand a topic at university I have to wait until the tutorial or office hours. I easily interacted with my teachers while at the university some of my lectors are not approachable. In secondary school I had three sets of vacations while at university I only have two sets of vacations. In addition, secondary school had two set of three weeks’ vacation and a ten weeks summer while university have one month in the Christmas vacation and four months for summer vacation.
I found that at secondary school I was taught the fundamentals of learning, while the university teaches me the advance structure of learning. I learned subject and verb agreement and not how to write essay but at university I learn additional fundamental of English like topic sentence use of punctuation marks and structure different types of essays. I also learned basic United
Kingdom accounting principle for Caribbean Examination Council level. United State accounting is taught at the university level. In addition, secondary school I did internal exam and was promoted to the year level while I do exams to earn credits towards my degree at the university. I did external exam and gain Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) certificate in several subjects but the university does an

“Hard lives” do not justify excessive absences simply because they will get too far behind and miss an excessive amount of notes. Along with Mr. Culpepper, “I have also found students who manage to complete a full load of classes successfully while working three jobs, caring for elderly, and coping with chronic illness…” (330). As in most universities or colleges, these students are already given a certain amount of days for absences. In most cases, six absences are allowed for the semester which is two and half weeks of class. If the students save these absences for emergencies, six absences are more than enough for one semester.…

Attending school year round does take away summer break (This is where, if you’re a kid, you stop reading and cry) but it gives you shorter, more frequent breaks. At the end of every nine weeks you get three weeks off. That equals 12 weeks which is the same amount of time summer break is. The school year might seem longer to you but it's not. It’s still the same amount of long,…

Additionally, some believe that a year-round schedule increases student burn out. This is also a misconception. In the year-round schedule, students get more frequent breaks to relieve them and prevent burnout. With the year-round schedule students receive a break after every nine weeks which is equivalent to a grading quarter. This means that students will get a break each time they complete a quarter of the school year. One set of research concluded that there was higher attendance in year-round schools (O’Sullivan, 2013). In a personal interview Emma Smith…

    Year Round Schools Essay

One of the biggest issues that comes with year round school programs is the possibility of decreased quality family time, as many people use the long summer break to take extended vacations. However, most of the breaks provided by the yearlong calendar allow for at least two weeks of down time. In fact, parents with year round students find that they “appreciate the flexibility provided by year-round schooling, as it can be easier (and cheaper) to plan vacations during off-peak times.”…

Have you ever considered switching to year round schooling? Here are some reasons not to switch, the summer time is packed and expensive, it’s harder for students and teachers, and finally there is a greater possibility for brain drain. In the article “Top 10 Reasons Why Year Round School is a Good Idea,” it states that by having one big vacation block, travel is more expensive. No matter the amount of time you get for summer you will still wind up spending more because both of the summer breaks, for year round and regular schooling, are during the summer months which are when airlines raise their prices. Also, by having less time off there is less time to play sports and hangout with family which is what most kids, like myself, look forward too. Another statement from the article said that breaks that are frequent are good for both students and teachers. With more frequent breaks the teachers will have to cram in all the information before each break. Students look forward to days off of school, but if breaks are more frequent, then they won’t get as excited because the breaks happen so…

You could do year-round schooling or you could go to school for 8 months out of the year and then get 4 months off. In my opinion it would be best if you went to school 8 months and then got 4 months off. It would be easier to divide grades like this and you won’t be forced to remember everything you learned that year. Also if you did year round schooling how would you do after school activities. Scientists say, “year round schooling takes away parent and student bonding time.” (Zubrzycki, 2016). In my opinion doing year round school would be hard to advance students to the next grade. Therefore I would go to school for 8 months out of the year and then get 4 months…

Moreover, the year-round schooling schedule presents problems in both student development and family life. Often, the summer break is used for families to travel or spend time together, for students to attend summer camps, and to take advantage of the season. The YRE system puts limits on these abilities. Though the same amount of holiday time exists, the shorter break puts limits on where, and for how long a family wishes to travel or a student may not get the opportunity to explore new things not available in school. It takes away the experience of long…
