Once again, I was placed in Mrs.Metcalfe who teaches second grade at Bens Branch Elementary. Mrs.Metcalfe took attendance while the students waited patiently on the carpet. After she took attendance, she addressed that she had taken some privileges away from the students because the students did not picked up their mess after having centers and would not follow instructions that the teacher gave. She explained that centers might return for the upcoming school year if they behaved properly. After she addressed the issues of the students, she instructed everyone to go back to their desks and waited till they put their thumbs which meant that they were ready for the lesson of the day. Mrs.Metcalfe went up to the front of the class to use the projector and expected her students to follow what she was doing on their worksheets.…

"Class, this is Alberto and he will be joining our class for this last month of the school year," the teacher yelled as I stood next to her puzzled and embarrassed. For a few hours, I plainly sat in my chair without saying a word, reflecting on my already missed memories of school in Rhode Island, until another student named Luis approached me. Of course, I was expecting him to say something in Spanish, but shockingly he spoke to me in English. Without hesitation, I responded to him and we quickly became close friends.…

Growing up there as has always been the question on what makes a good relationship. The one thing that always gets mentioned is trust. Many people have walked in and out of my life along with there has been many I have distanced myself from and some I have came to truly respect. Majority of the time I have distanced myself for the simple fact of I can’t trust them. The closet ones have been the ones to turn their back and break my trust.…
As nervous as I was when I walked into Saint Joseph Catholic School (K-8) for my first day of kindergarten, I never thought I would be able to leave after 6th grade and enter the world of middle school. In a small school of about 400 kids, I was familiar with every face that passed by me in the hallway. I got to know the kids in my grade so well and we all knew each other’s life stories. By the time I was in 6th grade at Saint Joseph, some of my friends were planning on going to Kinard middle school in 7th grade. At this point in my life, I was not completely content with where I was going to school. The realization came to me that it was time to move on. It was time for me to try something new.…
I think that is a great thing to do because if she just gave them the answer, how are the students going to learn. They are going to rely on her for answers all the time.…
As we arrived to Craig feeling the jitters, afraid I may get lost or beat up, Jayden text me “meet in the 100 hallway”. As If I knew where that was I had thought to myself. Of course, she was waiting for me at the front doors. We had said our hellos and told all of our worries. Then, we split apart to our classes and would soon reunite for our 8th hour class. By the time 8th hour had come we were already feeling more comfortable with our new school and the teachers. English 9 honors was our 8th hour and the teacher's name was Miss Tucker. She seemed very nice but, there…
I was fully optimistic that the day would go well, but it did not fall in the plan that I believed it would. It was the same routine in a new environment. My first day at Larned High School started like every first day before me. The principal, Mr. Langdon, gathered all the students and welcomed us into a new school year. The speech as long but informational. It was a familiar speech that I had heard every first day of school. Unfortunately, this familiarity would end, and now I was stuck roaming the halls in a new school looking for my first class.…
Just couple weeks ago, I took my little sister to school; it was her first day as a 7th grader. As I walking in the hall, memories of the time I spent here, started to come back to me. Nothing had change, these walls, painting and the decoration. It felt like I never left, all the teachers greeted me, and asking about my college life. So just like any other year, students have to attend the opening ceremony; my little sister sat down in the last rows filled with graffiti in the auditorium I looked up and thinking to myself, “ They changed the principle again, whoever in charge, do they think it will fix the problems?” They have been using this method for ages. Every year, the new principle would give an awesome speech about how they would fix everything. But the past decade, same problems still haunt the school. Even though fear and worries in my head, I have no choice but to let my little sister attends this school. Welcome to Northeast High of the Kansas City District; welcome to the education of my life.…

I wake up to the nagging and shrieking voice of my mother's morning wake up call. I layed back in bed, thinking, how much I despised monday mornings. After about ten minutes, I sluggishly make my way into the kitchen. I make myself breakfast, and proceeded with my usual monday morning routine. Just a quarter past seven o’clock, I am already on the bus, ready for the start of the new school day. Once I arrived to school, I thought nothing different, until it happened.…
