1.1 Rationale
Due to common calamities, many records, such as patient’s information, payment billing, patient’s account balances and receipt, store on papers are easily destroyed because of its vulnerability to fire and to water. Papers are also easy to be tear apart and most of the times being misplaced. Furthermore, when looking for a certain file or data in a bundles of records, it always takes time finding for the right piece.
I once experienced these when I was in my cousin’s dental clinic; seeing her having a hard time looking for the record of my dental health; often noticing that when someone is paying for the service, she’s just recording the transaction in record book.
So we decided that our study will be focused on creating an alternative solution regarding on how to aid these problems in a dental clinic. Such as putting all records and creating all billing transaction in a processing unit to make a time efficient and smooth way of accommodating patients, and to make a better way of taking care and storing with all the information gathered in a dental clinic avoiding unwanted loss of record.
1.2 Background of the Study
Recently, our group conducted an interview to the owner of Lacap’s Dental Clinic at 12a Dr. 1 Ilang ilang st. Karuhatan, Valenzuela City. According to Mrs. Lacap, her clinic was established in 2006 after she got married. We also found out that she has no business partner and the company has no other branches.
Most of the services she’s conducting are prophylaxis (cleaning), prostodentics (denture, and bridge) restoration (pasta), extraction (tooth removal) and she’s also conducting tooth surgery except teeth braces. According to Mrs. Lacap, she’s also giving discounts to students and senior citizens; she’s also offering installment payments when the service rendered is denture.
We found out that most of the problems she encountered in her company are much related from our study, such as in customer’s delayed payment
