Creative Writing: Haunted Halloween Night
One Halloween night in Salt Lake City, Utah, a group of fifteen-year-olds were discussing their plans for their mischievious and haunted Halloween night. Five miles away from the Dillon household, there is an abandoned, wore-down, and supposedly possessed hospital. The town mayor, Mayor Jessica Laughlin, has forbid any town citizen to set foot in in the Salt Lake City Memorial Hospital. Why is it forbidden? Well, five years ago on Halloween night, at exactly midnight, everyone in the hospital disappeared, and the cadavers were never found, but the souls of the psych ward still roam the hospital.

Lot's of questions went around the Dillon household when Brett and Hailey Dillon announced that they'd be sneaking into the "Haunted

"Look Caroline, we're going, with or without you. If you want to stay home and do nothing, go right ahead, I'm not going to stop you. It's your choice, Caroline."

"Fine, I'll go, but I probably won't enjoy it." said Caroline.

Later that night, the gang geared up, and told their parents that they'd be attending an over-night Halloween party at Joshua's house.

"Alright guys, time to roll!" said Joshua.

"So, what exactly is the plan? What if the doors are locked or someone catches us sneaking in? Or worse, what if we see something traumatizing and we have to go to therapy for the rest of our lives?!" Caroline said worried.

"Well, we haven't thought that far ahead, I guess we'll find out when we get there, won't we?" said Joshua.

At that moment, the group realized that they had finally reached their destination.

As the group walked to the doors, everyone started to have second thoughts. After several minutes of silence and hesitation, Caroline rushed to the doors, and gave the locked doors a hard

The group then proceeded to tour the first floor, and tried to find the steps leading to the higher levels. The psych ward was on the third floor.

"Guys, I'm all for adventure and fun, but I'm not too sure I'm up for staying the night. This place is a little sketchy." Hailey remarked.

"Too bad, you were well aware of what you were getting into before we even opened the doors. If you're having second thoughts, tough it out, breathe, cry, laugh, I really don't care, just do what you need to do to make it through the night." stated Caroline.

"Anyone else think that it's a little funny how Caroline was terrified about the idea of this before we left the house, but now that we're here, she's the only one that can stay calm and collected under pressure?" asked Joshua.

The group then headed up to the third floor to pick their bedrooms.

The third floor was gloomy. There was a faint smell of death and blood throughout the first and second floor, but it was much, much worse upon the third level. The slight breeze would occasionally cause the doors to swing

“That summer the strangest things began to happen in the rear of the house,” John said. “Doors and windows began to slam. I’d go back there because I thought someone had come in.” Upon inspection though, he would discover the screen door and windows were securely latched from the inside. “There was no way anyone could go out and relatch the door or windows,” John said. One of the more unnerving occurrences even stood his friends’ hair on end. When his friends hung out in the kitchen, which is located in the rear of the house, their cigarettes would mysteriously snuff out. This happened on numerous occasions, but never in the front portion of the house. “I was scared to death of that bedroom, “said john of the room from which most of the spooky happenings seem to take place. That room, which had a window to the kitchen, happened to be his late grandfather’s bedroom and the room in which he died of natural causes 16 years…

A slight breeze blew throughout the dandy forest, swaying the stiff lifeless trees and blowing the black stained leaves across my bare white feet. As I stumbled across the dead landscape, a slight fog swam around blending in with the increasingly falling snow. Hundreds of dark wood surrounding me seemed to slowly cave in, creating a narrow cave-like passage. An eerie feeling swept over me, and I stopped completely, analysing every detail around me. The smog became thicker, blinding the scenery and almost completely covering my vision. I sensed an inhuman presence watching me, and flinched whenever a snapping sound came from a faraway distance. I slowly turned around and began pacing in the direction I came from. The fog smothered me but I kept running,…

Before R.P. McMurphy arrives, the ward is your basic average mental institution. Men line up to receive their medication, they do puzzles and play cards, and the evil head nurse and her muscle, a group of big black fellows, carry patients off to be shaved or for electroshock therapy. The people can't do anything about it, though. After all, some of them are…
