Departure stage
Call to adventure
It was 2016 on a stormy night, I went to sleep with no worries. I woke up by a flash, dazed and confused. I opened my eyes to see a figure who seemed to be looking at me. How long has he been there? I waited for him to say something, but he just stood there. Maybe he didn't know I was awake. Will he leave?
I didn’t mean to, but I blurted out the first thing that

“But, my dad Ricky McClellan works for the fire department and I've never heard about you.”
“That's because I’m from year 2085. Now quickly come with me, pack your bag cause we need to leave. Montag is getting an “itch”, he wants to read, you will eventually understand, but don't bring any books.”
Refusal of the call
I didn't know what to do, he may kill me for all I know. I can't go, what will happen to my family? Where will I live?
“No! I'm not going, There is no way that you are going to get me to leave my own life.”
How will get back? Will I even ever get back? There was only one thing left I knew how to do. I had to fight him. I read books all the time about karate.
“Ok, take me to where we have to go,” I said.
But when he put his hand out and waited for me to grab it, I swung, I threw a punch right in his face. Then I kicked him a bit, I gave him one last punch only to realize that I was punching thin air. I was making a spectacle of myself. He did it again! He was able to disaper and apeair in a differnet place in less than a second. He appeared behind me. How technologically advanced is his world? He is able to time travel!

So I did what I only could do and followed the truck back, waiting across the street for Montag to leave. Hours past, but nothing happened. As I was falling asleep, someone tapped me on my shoulder.
“Are you ok” said Montag
“Yes i'm fine I just don't have a home,” “Well, you can live with me until you get back on your feet, He said politely” This was the best chance I had to get into his house. As we walked I talked to him.
“Have you ever read a book?”
But he never cracked I knew he had the book because I When we got in he introduced his wife to me. “Hi i am Clarisse, Clarisse Mc…”
“McClellan? She interrupted. “Come with me” As we walked away she told me “Ten years ago Beatty brought me here for the same reason he brought you, I have been his wife for 5 years now but I do not love him.” Experience with unconditional love "Montag is hiding books, I know because I saw him take one I don't know where he's keeping it but we need to find it and keep him safe", I told her."We need to stick together or else we may not be able to keep him safe".
"Tonight when he goes to sleep" she said "we have to look in every inch of this house to find this

This is my chance to pass him. There is path through the woods; I've been through it a thousand times so I know I can beat him. I dart into the woods cutting left and right to dodge the oncoming trees. My heart beating fast, one wrong move and I’ll be stopped in my tracks by a tree. Carving back and forth I maneuver my flexible board over bumps and between trees. There is a hard right turn up ahead; I’m going too fast but if I slow down he will win. My competitive nature kicks into gear. Bounding around the hazardous corner I emerge from the dangerous glades to an open slope. I turn around to see Alex far up the trail. I can see his anger he thought he was in the lead.…

He was not happy, He was not happy. He said the words to himself, He recognized this as a true state of affairs. He wore his happiness like a mask” (Bradbury 16). This shows that Montag just now realizes how he’s been faking his happiness all along. From this point on, Montag is unhappy and also starts questioning everything he’s been doing. He also starts to take a look at his society and seeing how technology has been controlling everyone. After Montag sees a woman burn herself along with her books, Montag is extremely distraught about this and starts questioning books, and why some people seem so connected to them. In Montag’s words, “Last night I thought about all the kerosene I’ve used in the past ten years. And I thought about books. And for the first time I realized that a man was behind each one of the books. A man had to think them up. A man had to take a long time to put down on paper . . . It took some man a lifetime maybe to put some of his thoughts down, looking at the world and life, and then I come along in two minutes and boom” (Bradbury 55). This proves that Montag is starting to have an interest in books and is also starting to care how burning books is affecting some…

The main conflict in The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak, is Hitler versus Liesel, which is a man versus man external conflict. The conflict between Hitler and Liesel is Hilter was the one who took away her birth mother, and her brother, both acts that Liesel despises him for. The author wrote, "...the suffering of her mother + the death of her brother= the Fuhrer" (Zusak 115). Since Hitler, or the Fuhrer, took away Liesel's birth family, a conflict was created between Liesel and Hitler. The lyrics in the song, "Fight Song", by Rachel Platten, described Liesel and Hitler's conflict perfectly. Platten wrote, "And all those thing I didn't say, wrecking balls inside my brain. I will scream them loud tonight, can you hear my voice this time" (Platten…

In the first chapters of Markus Zusak's The Book Thief, the protagonist Liesel Meminger experiences conflicts which drive her actions, actions which represent clutching to the memories of what once was. Liesel experiences shock and suffering at the traumatic death of her brother, Werner. "... With [w]ith one eye open, one still in a dream..." (p. 29) describes Liesel's reaction, a state of shock, at the moment she realizes her brother is dead and the image of "... His blue eyes stared at the floor. Seeing nothing" (p. 29) is a haunting imprint (p. 29). Liesel's reaction to this event is also played out in her unconscious state since "Every [e]very night, Liesel would nightmare" (p. 57). Even if you can opt out of fighting, it was almost as bad as locking a baby in the car. He told me that i would need to fight him because my friendship with Jolene was illegal. It was then that almost a million other gang members showed up and were cheering and screaming for who was going to win this fight. I didn't really pay attention to what they were saying because i was distracted by what i was gonna eat later on. II then looked down to see two buttons floating in the air in front of me which said continue and run. I of course picked the continue button and then i said something like “ This is going to be pawful”. I then started to laugh because of the joke and the Jackal- mask guy started to get angry. Noticing this I said “Okay, sorry I know that was Ruff and pup-thetic but i'll be serious. But I have a question? why do you smell like updog?”. The gang leader tilted his head in annoyance and asked what is updog? I then said “Nothing much dog! What up with you?” The jackal starting screaming and woke myself up. After waking up i was laughing because that joke never worked before in real…
