Although information literacy seems like a very overwhelming topic, information literacy skills are important to college students because the information on the internet that lacks credibility, is gaining in popularity. Information is constantly changing and updating, so information literacy learned in college courses are important because they will equip students with skills that will last a lifetime. Students with information literacy skills will be able to find the most relevant information, apply the information where it is needed and skills obtained from their college courses can be used in their future every day and professional lives.
