CELL PHONES IN SCHOOL
Students are very forgetful, one thing we know they won’t forget to bring with them is their cell phone. We use technology for almost everything. All grades K-12 use technology even preschoolers. Since our society is becoming more advanced in technology, why not use it to its best advantage. “The cell phone has become the primary means by which 25% of those ages 12-17 access the internet.” (Enis, 2013). Most students that attend school on a daily basis usually get bored within 10 minutes of hearing a teachers lecture. “Let’s help them learn the way they want to. They want to use cell phones. They want to text… They respond to it.” (Lambert, 2009). Cell phones today are like mini computers in your pockets. For students they might not have a computer or laptop may own a cell phone, with that being said, why not put it to use?
There is also people that believe cell phones have no place in the classroom. “Some of the kids are so hooked on [cellphones] that from the first day of school, they don’t even give their class a chance,” said Doug Bishop, a social studies teacher at Suitland High School. He believe the students are too worried about their phone. Which studies show that on the
