Case Study: West Texas A & M University
West Texas A&M established on September 20, 1910, was originally known as West Texas state normal college, and will provide me with the opportunity to learn new skills to further my career. “The size of West Texas A&M University is a public institution that was founded in 1910. It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 7,279, its setting is suburban and the campus size is 13 acres.” It utilizes a semester- based academic calendar. To be accepted into West Texas A&M you are required to have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA). Has to the top 25% with no minimum ACT/SAT score. The application process, a student must have 54 hours completed and an official degree plan, student must have a 2.75 GPA, and Student must be TSI complete. Student …show more content…

Accountants work with businesses to develop business and information systems strategies. It extends to all the other, is to prepare and examine financial records. They make sure that records are accurate and that Texas are paid properly and on time. They study of how business track their income and assets overtime. Accountants engage in a wide variety of activities besides preparing financial statements and recording business transaction. Accountants and auditors perform overview of the financial operations of a business in order to help it run efficiently. “First-year general accountants for a midsize company earn $20.25 to $25.65 per hour or $38,500 to $49,250 annually.”” A cost accountant working for a midsize company can expect to earn $21.48 to $26.69 per hour, or $41,250 to $51,250 annually.” An accountants is perfectly positioned to become a CFO, because he or she probably has the best understanding of what drivers business and profits in a company. The basics of how a business works will be learned. The field of accounting offers stimulating and challenging work that is constantly evolving. The information systems is the collection, storage and processing of financial and accounting data used by internal users to report information to investors. The accountants should record and report on accounting transactions from a neutral perspective. Professional accountants in business are an important critical mass in the global accountaricy profession. Their responses often mention rules such as tax agents and independent auditors.     Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, commonly known as Florida A&M University or FAMU is a university located in Tallahassee FL. FAMU was founded on October 3, 1887, and began with only 15 students and 2 instructors. The university sits on the highest hill in Florida's capital city of Tallahassee. The original school was housed in a single building on Copeland Street and offered instruction in 3 areas. During the 1890’s the school relocated to its present location and its name was changed to the State Normal & Industrial College for Colored Students. Another name changed occurred in 1909 when the school became known as Florida Agricultural and Mechanical College for Negroes, and in 1 year later the school held a body count numbering just over 300. During the years 1950-1968, the University experienced its most rapid growth. Twenty-three buildings were constructed and renovated with costs totaling more than $14 million. FAMU achieved a significant first by becoming the first Negro institution to become a member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
