Accreditation training is mandatory through the Federal Veterans Benefit Administration and our local County Veterans Association. Joining and participating in these professional associations lends creditability to the work that I do.
I will also need to further my education through finding a role to play in State Government Associations to learn more about how the local government does business. It is important for me now at this point to network within the legislative body so that I can demonstrate my skills and ability to take on any role opportunities that can be

Before starting my college education, I worked for over 6 years at Mitchell & Ness, a multi-million dollar retail clothing company and store in Philadelphia, extensively in their inventory department. I spent time during the year working with our various warehouse managers to investigate the root cause of inventory adjustments. Working in a position that required attention to detail further taught me ways to improve my problem-solving skills and give me a change to work independently as well as in a team environment. Being able to grow with that company from working on their retail sales floor to their corporate office gave me a full view of the company’s day to day operations and gave me a better perspective on work.…

Following deployment, many veterans in the United States have a hard time joining the workforce. Two of the main concerns related to poor return to employment are PTSD and depression. According to Smith (2015), in 2009, 21.9 million veterans lived in the United States, and of those veterans only 9.8 million who were under the age of 65 had a job.
