Advertisement Secrets

The advertisement I chose to use as an example of techniques used by producers is a Budweiser ad that features a couple in a simple setting. This essay will entail of one such advertisement and how it attempts to draw the attention of the audience. Whether it is the people they include, the sayings they throw together, or the colors they use, many factors lead to why advertisements draw people in. By breaking down the strategies of the ad we will see that it uses background/colors, human figures/brand, and bold letters to promote the product.
First thing I’d like to point out is the background and color usage of this advertisement. The colors red, pink, white, and gold are used a lot in this picture. The whole background is red which really pulls me in as to the product’s default color. The shirt of the man being served the beer is red, as well as parts on the actual Budweiser can. Pink is brought into this ad only once by the woman the picture because her shirt is pink, which is another lighter shade of red. White is used in a few spots on the can, the logo/texts at the top of the advertisement and the bottom on the man’s shirt, and the foam on top of the cup of beer. Lastly gold is shown pouring out of the beer can and inside the cup because the beer is golden. This probably didn’t have much to do with the ad, but the woman’s hair is goldish blonde. The idea of the background simply being plain red really makes the advertisement pop and doesn’t take away from any other parts of the ad. Each of these colors has a unique way of showing the product as parts of a whole and creates a sort of image that displays the product in a way that will make the item look as appealing as possible to the consumers.
Secondly I’d like to point out the human figures and the product itself in this advertisement. As far as human figures there are only two people present, a man and woman. The man is sitting kind

    The rhetorical appeals are included in the BudLight ad to persuade the audience to drink BudLight. This BudLight advertisement uses pathos to appeal to men’s emotions and make them want to buy their product. It uses sex appeal to make the advertisement more engaging to men. There are very few beer advertisements that do not include women in them. Budweiser uses a more mainstream and traditional sex appeal to sell their product to a certain type of client.     The advertisement uses many different sizes and colors within the whole image. The top Cover Girl is in the light green color reflecting back to the idea of softness and it is the vantage point for a person’s eyes. It is very bold and automatically draws attention to the top half of the advertisement. Also, the different very black and dark bold text at the bottom of the page seems intriguing for a few reasons. First, the different font types and sizes attempt to make you really see the first three lines very clearly and get an understanding of what the product is. However, the work “new” happens to be in green followed by “natureluxe silk foundation” with “luxe” being bolded, suggesting that this product is truly “luxury touched by nature;” which is in very small print right below that as well.     The ethos in any advertisement for Budweiser is that they are known as the king of beers. Many people know around the world of Budweiser and their logo. This gives them the ability to get viewers hooked on the advertisement from the start by just showing a logo.
