Brassica Rapa Phenotypes
First, students started off planting F1 hybrid seeds of the Brassica Rapa. Students were given six cell tray and putted half of the soil on each cell. Then, students used forceps to plant two brassica rapa seeds, 0.5 inches deep, in the soil and buried one fertilizer pellets next to the seeds for each cell. The fertilizer will help the brassica rapa to grow. Once that was done, students added 2-3 drops of water on the plants. After students did that, students label their six cell with their name and put their six cell tray on a water tray under florescent lights. For the next weeks, we took pictures, measured the plants, and look at the phenotype until the plants had pods.
