Think about maybe what would you buy if you won the lottery imagine all the things you could buy. There is a debate about if boredom is good or bad and researchers have studied that many people who can't do boredom tend to fall into doing drugs and alcohol.
Avoiding boredom can be a very bad thing. Your brain is not really fully developed as much as it could if you were thinking. But now in 2016 you are never bored because of iPhones, ipads and computers and now even hover boards usually I am always on YouTube. People need boredom to help you rest and fall asleep.

You should be daydreaming or thinking about sports that you like. You can be creative, imagine and think of what you have learned and experienced.
Other people may think about it differently and say no boredom is bad why would you want to be broad. And yes, I do kind of agree with that you should always be doing something from sports, listening to music and watching tv or anything thing else. But not being bored can also lead to alcohol and drugs. About 60% of kids said they were bored and that they didn't see the value of doing their work and 17% of teens do drugs and alcohol. Frequently bored youths are more likely to drink and do drugs.

Boredom while in most cases makes people become blobs of thoughts that are not to be of use. But some people use boredom as a time to draft, to create. Whenever I am bored I think about wholesome books I should write on the side, what the plots and the twists should be. Others may think about that essay that's due and think of a time to work on it, whereas others would be blobs of zen, sitting down and relaxing.…

Most of the time when you walk in a classroom they are this dull boring color and then you look around and see the kids in the classroom and they are either sleeping or dazed out into space. If classrooms themselves were brighter and warm and friendly and teachers didn’t teach the same thing over and over again with one tone of voice and actually tried to make it interesting maybe children wanting to learn more would inspire them to learn more about their own subjects. But, this contradicts the boring argument but kids become bored when they have reached the level of learning with no where else to go. It’s like reaching the top of a cliff with no where else to go, that gets boring after a while but no one tries to educate themselves and learn more they just stay in the same place…

What Gabler fails to do is define entertainment. What may be considered entertaining for Taylor Swift may have been considered boring by Albert Einstein. And what may be fun for Nicki Minaj may have been considered a waste of time by Gregor Mendel. Different people seek different forms of entertainment, although throughout any form, as with anything in life, there is an upside and a downside. Music can be relaxing and soothing; but play it too loud and it harms your hearing. Watch the History channel and learn a thing or two, or watch Jersey Shore and become influenced by their outlandish behavior.…

Many high schools reward and pay more attention to the kids who take advanced courses and they may see a brighter future in a kid takes advanced courses unlike a student who doesn't , but it that really the right mindset to have? For example I used to hang out with the “wrong crowd” and get high and I was told to stay away from these students, but I saw something in them that one really saw unless they had gotten to know them , in fact , most of them were very smart yet they just wanted an“easy A” and they felt the teacher had not really given a chance to show their true potential. One thing I believe is equally important for this argument is , sometimes kids actually get bored because they are put into a lower class so they don’t really want…

There is a clear difference between what I find entertaining and what others spend their time enjoying. John Taylor Gatto and Colin Bisset analyze the term “boredom” and give their own opinion on the affect that boredom has on our lives. In the philosophical articles, “La Vie D’ennui” by Bisset and “Against School”…

Atwood’s portrayal of boredom through the narrators experience gives an accurate account of feelings that are often associated with boredom. Atwood identifies the intrinsic root of boredom, the inability to find meaning in a situation, allowing her to provide a practical solution to escape feelings of boredom in our daily lives.…

Almost everyday, the majority of high school students are assigned with assignments that they most likely do not want to finish.Students are assigned with homework. Homework is not always interesting to everyone and can require a lot of time which can make students procrastinate to finish it. Another task students may receive is a reading assignment. Not all students dislike reading, but for others it can be difficult to read a book that they have no interest in. Having no interest in a book and trying to comprehend what is being read can be difficult while being bored because a student’s thoughts might trail off. One last activity students may have to participate in is watching a video during class. Many students are lacking sleep from the times that they actually go to sleep at night, and they often would rather sleep during class, if they had the choice. With a video that students may find uninteresting, and with the need to sleep, they would probably rather sleep than watch the video which causes boredom. Boredom can be felt in many ways.…

In “Against School” by John Taylor Gatto, he bonds boredom, the common condition of having low energy, to schools in the U.S. schooling system. Gatto was a teacher in Manhattan where he taught for thirty years. He retired from teaching in 1991. During his journey as a teacher he was named New York Teacher of the Year for three consecutive years (1989-1991), and honored as New York State Teacher of the Year in 1991. In this short story, “Against School”, Gatto tells his experiences with students that complained they were bored in school. Gatto said these students were not interested in what was being taught because they often said the work was stupid and that they already knew it. According to Gatto, these students were interested only in grades rather than learning the subject.…

What is boredom? According to John Taylor Gatto, boredom is ruining the modern day society’s schooling. Gatto is convinced that we ourselves is to blame for boredom, and believes everyone should be able to entertain themselves. “How public education cripples our kids, and why”, written by John Taylor Gatto, is papered with evidences. Even though the literal beauty does not exist in the essay, he starts out blocking all the possible arguments that could be created in the first place by placing evidences in his essay everywhere, unable to criticize on his content, reflection and analysis.…
