Developing the right programs for a company’s needs can become a major project. Going into weeks 4 and 5, I did not realize how much work and detail went into planning, developing and implementing a software program. There is a team structure with a project manager and the involvement of the company utilizing the program can be very involved to no say at all. I learned that a scope is a list of features desired in a project. I gained knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The many phases of the SDLC are need, prototype, investigation, analysis, design, testing, operations, and maintenance, and finally implementing the system. The scope creep involves adding functions after the project has been initiated. I also learned that RAD stands for Rapid App Development and is an alternative to the traditional life cycle. At work we use a scope in planning our shut-downs in order to gain an outlook of work to be done. A scope can be used at home when you receive a tax return in order to allocate funds toward different family needs. Another topic team members have learned was why the data is transmitted from the high volume data and the way its transmitting microwave towers or satellites are used, these have very powerful and large wavelengths that can travel long distances. We also discovered we all use electronic communication every day, from text messaging to e-mail and other forms of web based electronic communication such as…

The submittal of claims to insurance companies requesting payment for medical services provided by a doctor to a patient is called the medical billing process. Ten steps make up the process: preregistration of patients; establishment of financial responsibility for the visit; checking patients in; checking patients out; the review of coding compliance; verifying billing compliance; the preparation and transmittal of claims; the monitoring of payer adjudication; generation of patient statements; and the follow-up of payments by the patients and the handling of collections. HCPCS, HIPAA, CPT, and ICD have an influence on every step of the process. The 9th Revision-Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM) is a global categorization of disease and contains sets of codes. These codes give information for evenly measures and diagnoses. The ICD-9 code has three digits, and these three may be followed by a decimal point and then two more digits. The Healthcare Common procedure coding system (HCPCS) does not give diagnosis information, only information about the procedure area. The purpose of HCPCS codes is to process hospital treatments for outpatient services. Physicians also use these codes. ICD-9 procedure codes are required by HIPAA for their porting procedures of hospital inpatients. The numerical codes for CPT and the diagnoses areas signed by the coding team. They make these assignments based on information given by the provider. A charge is then created, following the billing rules that pertain to certain locations and carriers. People who work on the process of medical billing have to maintain patient information confidentiality based on HIPPA rules. Employees must also be truthful and conduct themselves with integrity. Every procedure and diagnosis has to be correctly documented and then coded accurately to avoid any delays in…

An operating system is basically described as “the program that, after being initially loaded into the computer by a boot program, manages all the other programs in a computer” (Rouse, 201). How has wireless media affected telecommunications? What are some of the challenges to developing a system of communications based on wireless media? Since wireless media emerged, telecommunications became charged with the use of fiber optics, electronics, and the Internet. With the advancement of wireless media telecommunications we now have the ability to send messages to one another. A major challenge to developing a system of communications based on wireless media is the security. Increasingly, companies and individuals are using wireless technology for important communications they want to keep private, such as mobile e-commerce transactions, email, and corporate data transmissions. As these wireless technologies grow, and store valuable information, hackers start stepping up their attacks on these new technologies. It is challenging to implement security in small-footprint devices with low processing power and small memory capacities and that use unreliable, low-bandwidth wireless networks.…

All of these characteristics are characteristics of a knowledge and value based manager. The first one is vision; this helps because everyone starts something with a view of what it will become. This will also help motivate the staff to do their best because knowing the company succeeded is because the whole team has worked together. You need a vision so you have a goal or something to work towards. A manager needs to be efficient, because they have many responsibilities that need to be fulfilled and people depending on them. As a local television Director, my main focus is on the local news and the issues that affect the community in which I live. I would choose to make the closing of the parks for three days my lead story and leave the celebrity death to the bigger networks. My first priority is to report news that affects the citizens of the community that I serve, even with the prospect of bigger ratings; I would feel an obligation to my audience to report issues that are more closely related to them.…
