Baseball Narrative Essay
Title

Baseball season is the most exciting time of the year! It is warm out, people are cooking burgers, and chewing sunflower seeds, there is nothing better! You can imagine my disappointment when I had to miss almost the entire first part of the season. There is nothing better than playing with a team that loves baseball as much as you do. When I was cleared to play in the playoffs in Rapid City, I was ecstatic. I was also really anxious to get my first game out of the way. I had already missed most of football season, most of basketball season, and the doctor said that I was likely to miss the entire baseball season. Instead of being sad and doing nothing about it, I decided to rehab extremely hard. I wanted to play, so whenever I thought

The following morning, I skip bike practice again, but Doris goes anyway. At the office, Megan caters to me. On her way in, she stopped at Trader Joe’s to buy me a protein drink with antioxidants from Trader Joe’s, a bottle of chewable Vitamin C and a whole grain carrot muffin. I drink half the bottle and listen as she tells me, “Thom cancelled the development meeting, since he met with you the other day.”…

Also I was starting pitching for our team I have pitched in big games before but never one like this game. so I was kind scared but I was ready to play in the game. So I got ready and left my house at 3:30 on the way there I took a nap to get rested for the game. So I got there a hour and a half early so when I got there I just kinda sat around and waited for all the other players to get there and so we could start warming up so when the catcher Liam Nash got to the field me and him were throwing like short toss and then we throw like long toss to really stretch out are arms. After we did that me and Liam took a break and got…

“GET HOME!!! GET HOME!!!” Those were the words my dad would yell from the third base coach’s box as I passed him rounding third! Baseball to me is more than just a game! Baseball is a passion, fueled by the desire to succeed, the passion to overcome, and the dedication to be great. A baseball field to me is like a stage is to a dancer or an open road for a biker; I just love every aspect of this amazing sport. It’s the field with its seemingly unfair depth, its soft green grass and the infamous red dirt, that make me have the passion for the game like my father did as a child. My life seemed to be limitless when I was in between that fence. Taking cuts on the tee, putting together a pickup game that didn’t matter who won or lost, or even on those days that practice seemed to never end, I still had the love for the game.…

Hi , I’m Lilli Burton . I am in sixth grade, and play baseball with the boys. A barrier i have faced is trying to play baseball because I am a girl. Whenever I try - out , they say “ She would be great at softball.” I face the barrier in Summer and Fall when it is time for baseball. A lot of coaches are sceptical about putting me on their team, but I don’t let that stop me from trying and trying again.Until someone accepts me for who i am. To overcome this barrier , I used integrity by sticking up for my beliefs and not always caring about what people think of me . I also used determination by never giving up and try my best to get better and better everyday. My barriers are similar to Jackie Robinson’s because we both wanted to do something…

An experience that has helped to shape my life was an incident I had with a pro-baseball player during the 2012 and 2013 baseball seasons. According to my viewpoint, the conflict started after we were assigned to our respective leagues for that season. I started observing that “the player” (name that I would use to identity and protect the person’s identity) did not want to follow the strength and conditioning program as the rest of his teammates. ‘The player’s” behavior had several implications: one, “the player” could get injured since he was doing what he considered was best. Two, other players thought I had favoritism with "the player" and tried to do the same. And three, I could had lost my job if any team player got injured by not abiding to the program stipulated.…

I was 5 years old ,and I was sitting on my brand new trampoline... my parents then came out and said ,” You wanna try something new like maybe softball. “ I of course said ,”YES!!” The next day I had softball practice and I was scared about there being the mean girls on the team. I knew that there were going to be the girls that thought they were the best. And there was. I had one person help me out and that was my dad and mom helped sometimes. I was scared of playing softball once I got on the field ,because the ball moved so fast coming at me. I have wanted to give up softball many many times ,but I did because my dad would push and get me to get in the yard to practice. I know that I will try more new things in the future. For, instance…

I was devastated. My entire offseason of hard work would be put to waste. I realized that unless I wanted my season to be ruined I had to find another way to help my team out. One way I helped my team was by learning how to keep score of baseball games so that one of my coaches didn’t have to do it during the game. I also made it to almost every game during that season so I could cheer my team on. At the end of the season, my coach came up to me and told me how much he appreciated how I made an effort to support our team even though I couldn’t participate. This made me realize how much of an impact I had made even though I hadn’t played.…

As the baseball diamond started to fade in and out of my blurry vision, I realized something was wrong when I was still sitting on the bench. Of course all good things must to an end right? Well my good times came to end quickly.…

During my senior season I slide into third base our first game of the year and jammed my shoulder. I had to go to the doctors and they said it was very inflamed and that I would have to sit out for most of the season. Being my last year in high school that news really brought me down. When I went to the next game I realized that I could not contribute on the field, but I could have a great influence on the players in and from the dugout. I cheered on my teammates at every game and during every inning until I could finally return to play at the end of the year. That experience taught me that no matter what happens there is always another way to positively impact someone, you just have to clear your mind and…

Growing up I played baseball to me baseball was everything i could think of. i couldn't wait to the weekend so i could put on that dirty uniform and pick up the new bat and nice leather glove and play baseball. When i was young i played in a big park in NYC where everyone saw you play so as i grew up everyone expected me to continue playing baseball and get better and work hard my mother always signed me up for baseball and i met a lot of coaches who help me gain more talent throughout the years. So as i grew up baseball started to be more and more of a priority to me i went to baseball practice two times a week one during the week and one on the weekend and with baseball practice i attended a baseball program which is twice a week meaning less and less time for homework and time to study. that being said i believe that time management and dealing with less and less sleep is the biggest problem with high school sports.…
