Compared to other countries, the United States has exceptional homicide rates, as most cases are driven by gun violence. Gun control is a highly controversial issue that resurfaces at the appearance of any form of gun violence. It refers to the regulation, and implementation of measures intended to limit access to, the ownership of, or the use of arms, specifically firearms. Gun control has a significant role in ensuring the safety of innocent civilians and reducing crimes.
