Gun Violence in America “I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it (Eastwood). Statistics are proving that we need to prevent gun violence and get rid of all access to all guns. In this country, anybody can get a gun, statistics prove gun violence is increasing, we need to prevent gun violence. Banning guns completely will make America safe again. Every day, 306 people in America are shot in murders, assaults, suicides and suicide attempts, unintentional shootings, and police intervention. Every day, 90 people die from gun violence: 31 are murdered. 56 kill themselves (Key Gun Violence Statistics). One of these steps is better background checks along with getting military grade weapons off the streets, and better enforcing the law. “The only way to determine whether an individual is prohibited from purchasing a firearm under state or federal law is to conduct an instant background check.”(Tanden). Background checks are very important to the safety of our country. “The recent mass shootings in Aurora, Colorado and Newtown, Connecticut have a deadly element in common: The shooters used military-grade rifles to inflict maximum damage.”(Tanden). Next, military grade assault rifles have thirty round clips, these serve no purpose and should be limited to a ten round clip maximum. Enforcing the gun laws are important to the safety of America. If more guns laws are not put into place there will be more domestic attacks until we put these laws into effect. Lastly, there needs to be more strict laws put into place for more thorough background checks, keeping guns away from felons and criminals and enforcing these
