Argumentative Essay: The Dangers Of Gun Violence
Guns enable people to kill someone easier. Even they are women or children, guns allow them to kill themselves or others including those who are innocence. At least 265 children under the age of 18 picked up a firearm and accidentally shot themselves or someone else with it in 2015 (Ingraham, 2015). If there was not the gun right in America, the children would not have touched guns or pulled a trigger. Moreover, some people own guns for self-defense, but I doubt whether guns really help people to protect their homes and families. Guns are far more likely to be used in a homicide than a justifiable homicide by a private citizen. (McLaughlin, 2015). When their lives were in danger, guns may not be near them. Every time there is a tragic event such as a mass shooting, the idea of gun control becomes the number one topic of discussion. Many forms of gun control have been the result of a tragic event. The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993, for example, is a result of the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan, which left James Brady with disabilities for the remainder of his life. Another example of post tragedy ideas for gun control came as the result of the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. These would include expanding and strengthening the current background check system, as well as instituting federal laws against gun trafficking. Congresswoman Giffords would also like to receive federal funding to research the “Cause and Impact of Gun Violence”.…

The purpose of this draft is to inform the readers of the correlation between guns and drugs. In this draft I hope to inform the general public, the students and Professor of ENGL 111, how drugs may be implicated in many of the mass shootings. As we are all aware guns do not shoot people, it takes a person to decide to use it. It is believed by many experts that medication alters the mind and the mind controls the trigger finger. Guns do not kill people, people kill people. The focus of this draft is to convey information or ideas as clearly and effectively as possible.…

So, I believe that Americans should be able to own guns and not have their 2nd amendment infringed upon because the 2nd amendment says “ The right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” This implies that the people of the U.S can have weapons to defend themselves and no further. Now obviously there is flaws to this as there is criminals that use weapons for horrible acts, but we have people that own guns to protect themselves from the criminals in which case a weapon is used in self defence and not to commit an act of crime. As well as people who use them to protect themselves it is also not meant to kill the gun for example is something that doesn’t kill the user of the…

If weapons were banned, that is, putting gun control into effect, the people who follow laws won’t be able to protect themselves from people who don’t abide by the laws. The main purposes of fire arms is self- protection and hunting. So don’t enforce gun control/laws because they only affect the law abiding citizens. The law abiding citizens may need their weapons to protect their family from the non-law abiding citizens or they need them to put food on the table because, they may not have enough money to afford meat. Then they wouldn’t be able to get enough protein and there is enough starving people in the USA/World. (wacotrib.com)Weapons is one of the best ways to bond with family/friends. Facts show that youth who spend time with their family have more common sense. Since they have more common sense they won’t go crazy. So having a good relationship with family is a good…

When it comes to individuals supporting gun control, they often don’t see a middle ground between the two. Individuals that support gun control only see guns as the murder not the person holding the gun or pulling the trigger. Often media posts graphs of gun related deaths and injuries on graphs that are not accurate. Individuals don’t do the research to determine what is true or is a fallacy claim of disordered statistics is. More than 60% of all gun related deaths per year are from suicides around 35% are homicide related the other 5% are from accidental deaths. (Pew Research) Guns are not responsible for killing people; the person behind the trigger is the one responsible for killing innocent individuals. When a mass shooting event takes place…

The NRA play a key part in the debate over gun control, and parents play a vital role in instilling future generations with respect for handguns and being involved in their lives. Throughout our nation’s history, gun control has largely remained an intermittent issue. compared to the historical issues such as slavery and inequality for women; gun control has remained unsullied. The majority of our founding fathers were quite comfortable their selves with fire arms and saw no threat in them. Be that as it may, the debate on gun control is at an all time high and is finally demanding the absolution it deserves. At the end of the day, the right to bear arms is and should remain in the power of the people, not the government. Citizens deserve the right to bear arms as per the constitution; as well as in order protect themselves in otherwise dire circumstances.…

Gun violence is one main thing that tears families apart. Crazy, non-educated people roam the streets with dangerous weapons killing people and causing tragedies. Society would have done better if only police had the access to weapons and guns instead of civilians and criminals, although they could be confiscated. Gun violence incidents have been happening for a very long time, most of the time without a reason. Shootings, robberies, etc. all include the use of a weapon like a gun. These things happen every day. For example, if someone is trying/planning on killing someone, they won’t be able to do that without a weapon. Guns are meant for self-defense, people like gangsters don’t use them the way they’re supposed to be used, but why? Using them not the right way will get them in trouble and do nothing but get them thrown in jail, just use guns in the proper form, for self-defense, not homicidal kills. It is important to always stay cautious of your…

Guns do a lot of bad, but do a lot more good for society. Banning guns will not stop the problem, but will just make it worse. Guns are apart of our society as Americans they have been around since colonial years, and are not leaving anytime soon. “The number of guns in America has increased by more than 50 percent since 1993, and in that same period the gun homicide rate in the United States has dropped by half. (Kristof, The Times).” Guns offer protection for individuals. One day you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a shooting breaks out, you will pray there is someone else there with a concealed firearm to help control the situation while waiting for police to arrive. They can’t do that if guns are banned. “We need to understand that we cannot stop crimes and murders. And banning guns would be a step, or two, backwards instead of moving forward in the right direction (The Times News).” The research conducted to produce this paper was drawn from a multitude of sources all with different…

media, community leaders and school administrators leading the charge. The debate over gun control is actually misguided. How can a law be controlled? It can only be enforced. The Constitution legally established the right for any law abiding citizen to keep and bear arms, yet proponents of gun control wish to steadily erode this law through regulation and legislation. The term gun control is just that, a steady relentless effort to seize control by chipping away at the edges of the law until is gone entirely. Gun control advocates commonly resort to emotional arguments presented out of context rather than rational examination. An honest debate depends…
