An Essay On My Last Day Of Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite times of the year, besides Christmas. I love spending time with family and friends while enjoying the delicious Thanksgiving meal. My aunt’s husband is a culinary chef, so with that being said, our meals are always homecooked and taste heavenly. My entire family gathers on Thanksgiving Day at my aunt’s house where we spend the entire day eating, catching up with one another, and enjoying each other’s presence. Most importantly, we all get to see my cousins who range from three to ten years old and are all boys. We are also all anxiously awaiting my cousin’s arrival in February. With this, I am the only girl in the family when it comes to cousins. Growing up I was always told that family is the most important

Erik Larson uses this simile to communicate to his readers how awkward Burnham felt during this occasion. Burnham considered himself incompetent, especially since he was not able to get into Harvard or Yale and these men were able to go to these schools or schools like them. Compared to these highly trained architects, Burnham felt as if he did not belong there. Furthermore, by comparing this occasion with “being a stranger at someone else’s Thanksgiving,” Larson’s readers can comprehend how little and unwelcome Burnham was feeling sitting next to professional architects with a high level of education. By using this simile, Larson is able to describe how Burnham felt during this dinner.…

Imagine this, you are enjoying the Christmas holiday at your grandparents with your aunts, uncles, and cousins. You think nothing of it because it is a completely normal thing to do. This is the first year all of my cousins were together in about three years. I introduced my boyfriend, Devin, to my other cousins he hadn’t met yet. As we were talking, I grabbed a plate of snacks when my five year old cousin walks up to me. She did not say anything just stared at me as she rocked back and forth and clapped her hands. I smiled down at her and asked if she was hungry. Still she just looked at me smiling, while clapping her hands. Instinctively I grab a chip and some dip off of my plate and feed it to her.…

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. Did you do anything fun? Travel anywhere distant? In your last email you said you ride a bike called a recumbent. I have to say that it is a very strange bike. There are a few people in Brainerd that ride those in the summer. I personally wouldn't ride one but to each their own. I can't believe that you work on such a range of projects from $30 to $300 million. What was the smallest project you ever funded and what was the biggest? And what were they?…

My Thanksgiving break was pretty good. On Thanksgiving, I went to Indiana to my cousins' house. It was a two-hour drive, so it wasn't that long. All of my cousins are older than me- literally, all of my cousins even from I don't know where. The only people younger than me are my siblings so I'm not the youngest of ALL the people. Anyways, we had eaten all of the thanksgiving things you can possibly eat. I loved thanksgiving this year and I can't wait next year.…

No matter how old you are I am sure you can remember being shoved over to the children’s table at Christmas. This “special” table was usually set with some inedible arrangements and included your very annoying cousin whom you wanted to throttle before you even finished the blessings!! Special was a good word that mom came up with to describe the children’s table. We had one cousin poking you, yelling and throwing food, another would have his nose picking fingers drove into your mashed potatoes and yet another would be telling you how special and perfect they are in each and every way!! The worst part was being stuck at the table when you are a teenager and really didn’t want any part of your runny nosed younger siblings and cousins. Even worse than that was being stuck at that table as a 5 year old and being forced to look after your 1 year old cousin!! So, here is some advice from Doc on exactly how you can set up a children’s table so the children feel comfortable, welcome in your home and most importantly, have…

There are hundreds of home cooked meals around the world. Some are very complex while others are quite simple to make. Unfortunately, every home cooked meal cannot be mastered by everyone. With this universal dilemma, we are always taking a risk when trying home cooked meals made by different people. Because of this I’ve decided to choose macaroni and cheese. Normally this dish is looked as a kids’ meal or a meal that isn’t very fancy/mature. In fact, this dish is served all over the world in multiple of ways to people for almost any occasion. I personally love this dish because of the variety of ways it can be prepared. Meaning, that the cheeses use, the methods used to cook, and special touches added are very important in ensuring that the perfect bowl/plate of mac and cheese.
