Young Adult, Midlife and Late Adulthood Stage Interviews and Reports
Late Adulthood brings many challenges and changes. Late Adulthood brought on a very difficult challenge for my interviewee. He is a seventy three year old male. He is married and has three grown sons. He is retired yet he still works as a legal assistant at his youngest son’s law office. He was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2010. He feels this challenge has been his largest to overcome. He feels the most important thing in life is his faith and his family that has helped him fight the cancer. He is now cancer free. He believes The Houston Center where he received care was a great attribute to his health. They provided him with counseling and the proper care to fight the prostate cancer. He returns to the Houston center once a year to have his check up. He enjoys this alone time with his wife. This trip allows them to travel and visit family that lives in Houston. He has learned to enjoy life more and has become more family oriented in this stage of life. He feels he is better off than what he thought he would be. He has worked hard most of his life and hopes to keep enjoying his grandchildren and travel with his wife. He is very proud of his sons and hopes they are just as well when they get to his stage in life. His largest worry is his wife’s health. She had bad knees and high blood sugar. He spends his extra time with his wife. He enjoys going to eat out and to go to the movies. He tries to spend every Friday with his wife and enjoy the time they have left together. His wife and him attend church regularly and have a strong faith. He believes his faith has helped him overcome many challenges and will continue to have a strong faith.

I interviewed an adult woman who lives in my neighborhood. Her name is Marina and she is 66 years old always trying to be active but in fact, she has a lot of health issues. She lost her husband 12 years ago and from then on, she lives by herself. So, I decided to invite her for a breakfast on Sunday morning and spent a little bit time together and talk. She responded to my invite with a very enthusiasm and interest. I am assuming it is because in her life there is not happening a lot of interesting events. I know her almost 4 years and I thought I could have guessed somewhat correctly about her interests in music, films, and TV shows.…

On our day-to-day busy lifestyle, we usually do not take the time to look around and see the people that surround us. From the young playful children, to the elderly who sits mesmerizing their surroundings. I am very fortunate that I got the opportunity to go out my comfort zone and do this assignment. Ms. Rose Lee is 66 years old and I learned about her through her daughter a great friend that I met last fall semester. I was very happy when my friend agreed to help me and allow me to talk to her mother for my interview. I did my interview over the phone because Ms. Rose does not live in Savannah. Ms. Rose is divorced and lives in South Carolina; she identifies herself as African American descent.…

Teenage years can be a challenging time for many individuals. Beginning at the age of 11 through 20, adolescence is defined as a “transitional period in the human life span, linking childhood and adulthood” (Santrock 2009). At this point, the person is no longer a child, but not yet an adult. This makes it a very critical and sensitive time frame for identity formation.…
