Abraham Lincoln Remembered Essay
Abraham Lincoln, the civil war leader that defeated slavery and made the United States whole again. Mr. Lincoln had a difficult time growing up but he still managed to make his way to the top and become one of the best leaders in the history of the country. An important question about Abraham Lincoln is what was his legacy or what was he remembered for? There is plenty of things that Abe is remembered for but these are the main reasons he is remembered. Lincoln was a vital leader of the Union in the civil war leading them to victory over the Confederates. He was also remembered for issuing the emancipation proclamation that lead to the end of slavery in the U.S.. He was a great leader of the Union and gave many people the confidence to complete hard tasks. During the Black Hawk War Abe was one of many people to volunteer in the militia. Abraham never gave up during a war, instead he just kept on pushing and fighting till eventually it lead him and the Union to victory. Lincoln being elected was not why the Civil War occurred but it was a primary reason to why it was. Slavery was the main issue to why the war happened but that was only because Lincoln was an abolitionist and wanted it to be dealt with. Lincoln freed most if not all of the slaves in the south, releasing them from their owners so they could become their own person. Lincoln had a huge impact on most wars at the time and he managed to pull through in most if not all of them by being the great leader that he is. Mr. Lincoln had a difficult time growing up but he still managed to make his way to the top and become one of the best leaders in the history of the country. Abraham Lincoln was a war hero, great president, and unbelievable leader. He made a huge impact on what our country is today and he should be thanked for what he transformed this country
