I Believe in Dogs
Many people have a close relationship with their pets. These people treat their birds, cats, or other animals as members of their family. But, the very special pets that I have always been intrigued with are dogs. As silly as it sounds, but hear me out, when I tell you the reasons why I believe in dogs. I believe that dogs can teach you so many essential moral values in life. For instance, dogs teach you to express your inner feelings, and it’s always a good thing to let people know how you feel. Like a dog, when loved ones come home, you should always voluntarily run to greet them. Dogs show their emotions freely, when looking at a dog; their emotions are always detectable and evident. They don't hide themselves, they're not afraid to show how they really feel. Like a dog, dance around and wag your entire body when you feel joyful or energized. Like a dog, use your body language, express your inner self, and tell people what's on your mind, because honesty is always appreciated. Let others know when they've invaded your territory. Learn from dogs. I believe that dogs teach you how to be patient. When someone upsets you, avoid biting, a simple growl will do the trick. Dogs wait at home for you to go to work all day and don't complain a single word, and no matter how long you take to get home, they will always be at the door with their tails waving, welcoming you. Learn from dogs. What will be, will be, and like my mom always tells me, best things come to those who wait. I believe that dogs teach you how to enjoy the little things in life. I always look for happiness in the wrong places, and never knew that happiness is in the simple, minor things that happen every day. I'm a girl; therefore I used to think happiness has to come from boys, clothes, by looking fabulously dressed in school, getting new makeup or being complimented by others. How wrong I was... I should've known that those things should be the last things on my mind because of how insignificant they are. Learn from dogs. Every dog's dream is to be walked in the park, allow the fresh air and the wind gently touches them on the face, or to lie softly on the grass and observe the sky above. Dogs find delight in the simple joy of a long walk, in the game of fetching, or just simply mean to squirm in the mud by the pond. I believe that dogs teach you how to be a wonderful friend. No matter how many times I try to trick my dog into doing something, or maybe back then when my young, goofy, silly self tried to pull some brainless pranks on my little companion, he'll never be mad at me, and would always come back every time I call his name. I am sure of that I'm not the only who furtively share stories or chat with my dog. I have no idea if my dog actually understands all those stories I've told him, all the little secrets, or the troubles I got in without my parents knowing, but I'd like to believe he does. When someone is having a bad day, be a dog, be silent, sit close by, and maybe try nuzzling them a little. Unlike other domestics, dogs choose to become part of our lives by their own volition. I believe in dogs, and their abilities, and see them as great teachers to learn from.

But they usually try the “cheap” route which is only the cheaper choice at the moment. Humans are fine to show love and affection, but pets are even better. The only problem is, pets show a tremendous affection, and in the article “Why A Man’s Best Friend Is A Man’s Best Friend” it says,“Children often turn to their pet for comfort if a friend or a family member dies or leaves the family. Grieving adults who did not have a close source of human support were also found to have less depression if they had a pet”(Drs. Foster & Smith Educational Staff). Dogs know exactly how their human is feeling 99% of the time and if they do not know, they are always trying to figure it out. In “Huffington’s Post” they said, “Dogs are very attuned to humans' moods, which makes them a good gauge of what we're feeling. They're "an emotional barometer. Dogs have been domesticated for about 12,000 years," he says. "One of the things that research has shown is dogs have learned over these years, perhaps better than any other being, how to read our nonverbal behavior." (Klein,…

My family dog is a hairless Chinese Crested named Sid. He is a gray, white, and black dog with no hair except on his head, paws, and the tip of his tail. We rescued Sid 8 years ago from Detroit, Michigan. His owners left him outside in the freezing cold when they moved away. They abandoned him. Adopting Sid changed my life forever. By caring for him, I have learned loyalty, responsibility, love, compassion, and patience. These are traits I see and feel within him as well. I believe animals mirror God’s hope and love for us. For example, God wants us to forgive others who have done us harm. Sid has forgiven his original owners by moving beyond the shy and fearful dog he was when we first brought him home. He is a happy and joyful dog now.…

Sharp, fast gasps and a swift pointing finger always proceeds when I spot a dog. An excitable, breathy, “Dog!” escapes my mouth and I always scurry over to the dog’s owner and asks if I can pet them. I’ve owned two dogs in my lifetime, and lived with another. I’m what some people would call a dog person. So for some, it might be unsurprising to find out that I credit a lot of how I am to dogs.…

    Marley And Me Analysis

The two films that we watched this week were Marley & Me and Turner and Hooch. In both films, the wild, unruly, and rowdy dogs are kept by owners who do not know how to handle them but eventually end up loving the dogs to death. Hooch is a huge dog that becomes the only eye witness to a murder while Marley, on the other hand, is a house pet that is out of control. Having the dogs as the main characters contributed to both of the movies by making it easier to see the the overall theme. A dog isn’t a person who can just listen to what you are saying and follow instructions, they are pets who have their characteristics that won’t change which makes their owner have to adjust. The way that the owner interacts and adjust to having a dog, shows the…

Have you ever seen a dog be obedient to its owner? I have and in fact I have experienced it as well. Dogs are very obedient to their owners. One way dogs show that they are obedient is that they obey you when you give them a command. When you tell a cat to sit or lay down, they really never do what you tell them to do; they just do whatever they want. For the most part, dogs can almost understand what we tell them to do. Sometimes they won’t understand and do whatever. Whereas cats just do what they please, and they also choose to ignore us. Dogs are a whole lot better to teach than to teach a cat. Why? Dogs mostly do what you say instead of cats where they ignore you and do whatever.…

I knew that I did not have the patience for training and I knew that when kids say they will help; I knew exactly what that meant.…
