A Research on the Seat of the First Philippine Givernment: Casa Real
INTRODUCTION OF THE STUDY

You can feel the heart and soul of the country in Bulacan, "The Gateway to the Northern Philippines". Bulacan prides itself for its rich historical heritage. The province figures prominently in Philippine History. Many national heroes and political figures were born in Bulacan. The province was also one of the first to revolt against Spain. The province is honored as one of the 8 rays of the sun in the national flag. It is the home of the "Three Republics."
A trip to Bulacan can never be complete without visiting Casa Real de Malolos, definitely one of Bulacan’s prides. Casa Real housed various offices, institutions and agencies at a span of time. The building housed the National Printing Press during the First Philippine Republic. It was also on this that the La Independencia, The Heraldo, and Ang Kaibigan ng Bayan (The Friend of the People), was printed. It is a government museum consisting of relics from the First Philippine Republic. Memorabilia's of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo are also found here. First class families of Malolos, their furniture, old books, stamps, paper money and coin are also displayed in the Shrine.
When the Americans captured Malolos, Casa Real became the seat of their Military Government. It was turned into a hospital in 1923 until it survived from demolition on 1965 due to the pleading for its preservation. It was 1980 that Casa Real rose again with elegant Spanish features. The reconstructed Casa Real is proposed to be converted into a Municipal Library and Museum of Malolos, to be the final repository of still existing priceless memorabilia of our historic past. Truly, Casa Real is one of the structures in Malolos every Maloleños should be proud of.

The site I chose to visit for my on-site project was the Largo Argentina’s temples. Being so close to my apartment, I walk past the Largo Argentina temples almost every day. Each time I walk by the temples, I always wonder the significance of the ruins. Every once in a while I stop and look and them for a few seconds. However, I have never taken the time to examine each thing inside the Largo Argentina temples. In order for Casa San Ysidro to be relevant in the community it serves and ensure that it is on people’s radar, we recommend that Casa San Ysidro forge local partnerships. One of the ways that this can be accomplished is by getting involved with the University of New Mexico and Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). We recommend building relationships with professors at both institutions that can then create assignments that welcome students to visit Casa San Ysidro. Students would then write a paper or give a presentation to their classmates about their visit to Casa San Ysidro. This program can help raise awareness of the museum as well as encourage students to invite their family and friends in the future. This is similar to how Astronomy classes create extra credit assignments to visit the Very Large Array in Socorro, New Mexico, Art classes…

Bartolomé de las Casas, a former encomendero turned Dominican friar, was known as “one of the great abolitionists of Caribbean history”1. He dedicated a huge portion of his life trying to better the conditions of the people in the Indies. He devised a “radical plan”2 which would prove to be more contradictory than anything. Although Bartolomé de las Casas’ plans for the Indies seemed radical, they were actually made out to serve the crown’s desires while taking away the power of the conquistadors. It was basically single-story structure with two big patios and a wide court at the main entrance. Its exterior, especially the great outside lines, put emphasis on its compactness and complete dominance of its environ. On the other hand, space ventilation and lighting were given importance in its interior as represented by the large floor area and enough provisions for rooms that functioned as vital offices.
