"Tumblr is life and culture and that total antithesis of the modern day pop culture which is the ingrained in today’s children. There is no possible way to explain such a phenomenon to others. You either get it, or you don't," Urban Dictionary description number four. Though Tumblr is a little complicated to explain, it is not impossible. Tumblr is a blogging website that has become a huge web phenomenon and a unique kind of social networking site. You can make your blog look any way you want, post anything you want, and write about anything you want. It has given people a simple but effective way to share ideas and feelings with the world. Like every community Tumblr has its own set of rules and special nuances. Tumblr is an online community where countless unwritten rules define the culture but really only three main rules apply: There are no restrictions as to what you post on Tumblr, keep Tumblr an open minded and supportive environment, and what happens on Tumblr , stays on Tumblr. 2
So to start of the list , rule number one there are no restrictions as to what you post on Tumblr. Tumblr is a creative outlet to express who you are and that leads to not having any regular social networking posting expectations. For example, on Facebook you are expected to post things exclusively about you with people you know Tumblr, you can post completely random pictures or posts for no reason at all and interact with mainly strangers. On Facebook or Twitter you are expected to post less personal or politically correct things. Tumblr you can post naked pictures, talk about how much you don’t like chocolate, and write about a problem you’re having without anyone really batting an eyelash whereas on Facebook or Twitter you would be banned. “Tumblr is the only place where I can be 100% me, the only place that makes me feel I’m not alone and someone can I appreciate me and accept me.”, states the very quiet and kind Tumblr user who love
