I. Executive Summary

The purpose of this term paper is to study the current strategy of the Young Entrepreneur’s Society and their industry. The aim is to be able to recommend a better strategy or improve the currently implemented strategy to be able to be one of the top organizations in the university. We chose this organization because it is relatively new and we wanted to see if they were moving towards the right direction. As a new organization we know that the organization is still discovering its identity and finding its place within the CSO. The organization continues to be in a very flexible position where they can still diversify and adjust to the environment.

Information/Data gathered came from an in-depth research of the organizations documents such as its Financial budget proposal, Membership database, Constitution and By-Law as well as interviews with the current President, HR Vice-President, Finance Vice-President and Socio Civic Officer. We were also able to gather additional information regarding the organization through an interview with the very first President of the organization.

In order to analyze and present the data gathered our group utilized different frameworks in studying the industry and essential topics involving strategic management such as the Five Forces Model of Competition, the components of a company’s Macro-environment, SWOT analysis, Effective Elements and Shortcomings of a Vision statement to name a few. Our group also used frameworks on the generic strategy, Tangible and Intangible Resources, SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, Time-bound) for the
