During the summer, there is about 24 hours of light, since the poles are pointed toward the sun. During the winter the pole is facing away from the sun, which makes there 24 hours of darkness. The Ice Cap climate is the coldest climate on Earth. The warmest month is about -16 degrees fahrenheit. The coldest month is about -70 degrees fahrenheit. During the winter, temperatures can reach -90 degrees fahrenheit. The coldest temperature ever recorded was -128.6 degrees fahrenheit. When I was 18, my family took a trip to Cancun for Spring Break. I absolutely loved the beaches and palm trees, the white sand, hot sun and blue waves. Ever since then I have had a real passion for tropical islands. My favorite and perhaps the most beautiful Islands I've researched are the Cayman Islands. I've only seen pictures and heard stories but I've already decided that's where I am getting married. I still however, don't know anything about the islands. My love for these islands and my thirst for knowledge on the topic has driven me to do more research and find out the history behind the Cayman Islands. I want to know everything about them, so far the only thing I know is that there are three islands, Grand…

A number of sensations are used to describe how winter time in Wisconsin can be thought of as a bitter season. Just walking from outside to the car in the winter, causes me great annoyance. Above my head, snowflakes dance down from the sky and prick my face like hundred of pins and needles, casting an icy, cold, stinging agitation all over my skin. The freezing cold breeze whistles in my ears. The air swirls around me in all directions and nips at my body, leaving a venom that causes my nose, ears, and hands to go numb. This frigid air makes my skin grow under my clothes, sending goose bumps all over my body. It is so cold that warm tears slowly stream down my rosy cheeks. No matter where I look, I must squint my eyes, for I am being blinded…

Do the problems with our economy have any effect on the increasing number of domestic violence reportings? Money problems are always a risk factor in relationships. Due to the downfall of job losses, the falling of the financial markets, and foreclosed homes, there has been more tension in homes. As a result, organizations that deal with domestic violence and substance abuse are bracing for more demand for their services, even as the recession is forcing some to cut budgets and lay off their own personnel. Although an economic downturn itself does not cause domestic violence, it can increase the factors that contribute to domestic violence and reduce victim's ability to leave. (Kalson, 2008). According to the National Network to End Domestic Violence 24-hour census, “the economic climate may give batterers additional leverage when using emotional and financial abuse to control their partners” (Feb. 2009).…
