Why We Should Have Dress Codes
Have you ever been taken out of class, just because you were breaking dress code when all
you did was wear leggings. Dress code are rules made to let you know what you can and can't
wear at a school setting. Some rules are reasonable. But now dress codes are starting to get out
out of hand and extremely under reasonable. The way students are handled when they break
dress code is embarrassing and unecassary. Dress codes today should be changed because they
do not allow you to express yourself, that can be extremely sexist, and creates a financial
issue to get clothes that acceptable.

The restrictions don't stop
at religion they have many rules that restrict students from wearing what makes them feel
comfortable in their everyday lives. It's gotten so bad even dying your hair a "distracting color"
can get a student sent home. students should have the right to wear what they like and feel
comfortable in and not be harrassed for it.
If it isn't already obvious most of school dress codes apply to girls more than they do boys.
Some of the restriction on what girls can wear to school is ridiculous. Some are reasonable. But
not being able to wear leggings, yoga pants, shirts with straps thinner than 3 finger, and even
skirts or shorts that need to be a certain length or longer. This sends the wrong message to girls
and boys, that all girls are distractions and objects only seen in a sexual manner. "This policy
clearly shifts the blame for boy's behavior or lack of academic concentration, directly onto the
