Should School Dress Code Be Changed?
Did you know that most of the in-school suspensions given at school are from dress code violations? School dress code has been around for years now. Centrals school dress code consists of khaki, navy, or black uniform style pants, also a collared polo type shirt. Anything other than this is a violation like hoodies, leggings and much more. School dress code should be changed because the students have no creativity,the expenses are high and behavior problems.
Students like to dress with creativity and follow a trend, like skinny jeans but with dress code this will never happen. Struggling families do not have enough money to buy the high dollar uniforms, so their kids have to suffer with the off brands Americans spend around $1 billion on school uniforms every year (pros/cons). In 2013 alone, uniform company land’s end spent $3 million on marketing efforts directed at public schools and districts (Pros/Cons). School uniform prices increase every year. My son’s private school requires students to purchase polo shirts with the school logo on them cost $18.56 a piece plus shipping $9.50 (Lisa Runge). The average cost of school uniforms for parents is $249.00 (Pros/Cons). “I am a successful nurse and still struggles when it comes to buying uniforms.
